I think I have to make it my mission to get drunk tonight and go red buff pot/top start with E start and see how much damage my auto can do. I just don't have any hybrid pen runes.

Lost my second promo game thanks to a Lux that decided to go toxic and leave bottom to "support" mid lane because of a mild disagreement. Le sigh.

nasus is by far my fav champ, still, after all this time. silver 5, but i carry almost every game i get to play him top. jungle, i'm about 50/50.

my hardest match-up was vs. a quinn. even if i'm shut down early, i can still carry late and win games. it's just so much fun. all tank & cdr. Kindlegem if i have to back early, try to hold out till i can get a glacial shroud if i'm vs melee. spirit visage & iceborn gauntlets my 1st two items after boots. then more tanky depending on enemy matchups.

last game our vayne was pretty cluelesss. at silver/bronze you get a lot of people that dont push objectives after winning team fights, and vayne would always go to get CS somewhere after a team fight. Otherwise, this game would have ended sooner and not been dead even in kills till very end.

I think we don't see swain alot due to his nature. He can absolutely sustain a lot in long or extended fights , but with the current pick of champs many have a lot of burst so he will die pretty easily. He is also very squishy as someone pointed out earlier and will get bullied pretty bad by most of the current top lanes.

Well after a 1/20 TF a 1/10 Galio, a 0/15 Panth i get once more the "auto win ARAM setup" at least this time everyone gave up early !
BTW if your game lasts less than 7mins, you don't get points.

I really like swain. Played a few games tonight and really held my lane or won it despite my other lanes losing.

Vs massaging was tough due to the silence, then I'd get raped by a fed yi.
Vs ryze was easy.

But both games we had a bad jungle me. First was Warwick, second was tryn. Both time against a yi. Worst matchups ever.

New Janna skin had me playing a lot more Janna lately and now I remember why she isn't played a lot. Great skin though. Janna still has my highest W/L ratio in ranked but there's much better supports out there these days. Heavy disengage doesn't seem to be that in style anymore.

Still miss old Taric.

Janna is one of the best peels in the game. You're high.

Fris, you still build iceborn over Triforce? Seems like everyone is building Tri-Force on Nasus now, including myself.

Also, Udyr is really fun. My question is how do you engage with him late game? Do you dive? Peel? Wait on the outskirts til an opportunity presents itself? Going in balls to the wall and trying to tank seems like a waste of his kit.

Swains vamp is on his ult. Morgs is on everything.
His aoe root is ok. but the damage vs cooldown and its delay is questionable.
a 1second delay with 2 second root. 240 damage scaling at .7ap. 125 radius. 900 range 18-10s cd.
Brands pof. .75s delay. 255 damage, .6ap scaling. and 250 radius. (+25% damage to blazed targets) 900 range. 10s cd
cho's rupture. .625s delay. 305 damage with 1ap scaling. 175 radius. 1s knockup AND 60% slow for 3s. 925 range. 9s cd (Rupture is kindof op.)

At rank 1, nevermore is complete trash. Rank 5 and with alot of AP its.. ok. But not really comparable to other ap AOE's. Anivia, cass Nami, lux? Nami's wins too. Lux's lucent singularity is about on par for damage/cd. and slow is weaker then root. so there, nevermore is probably better then lucent singularity. iceball wins. and cass's miasma is probably too different to really compare. if they stand it in, its stronger, if they don't weaker. but it also sets up twin fang of course.

His Q and E are both single target. 625 range.
A full duration Q only scales at .9. which is kindof bad considering you can just walk out of it. 255 full duration .9full duration. slow. 625 cast. 900 range for effect.
Morgs Q dark binding is 300 damage, .9AP scaling, and 1300 range. Does require line of sight to hit.

Torment I think is the worst. Mediocre 4s dot. that increases swains damage to a single target by 20% Brand, Leblanc, and xeranth have stuns from chaining spells. This thing on a 10s CD in no way comes close to kill secure those stuns do. it even only has a 625 range. Why? It should chain targets on death, and/or have a huge range imho.

Ravenous flock. sustained aoe damage at point blank. 75% spell vamp. This is.. ok. A karthus, anivia, and cass can all shell out a ton of sustained aoe damage. And with the proliferation of spell vamp in the game, its easier for them to do that as well.
All 4 have been hugely buffed by the +mana items. Chalice was kindof secretly OP, BEFORE athene's was added. Now that it upgrades into an AP/CDR item. wow.
Morg's ult is faily comparable as well. While not sustained. she can run in. ult hit all 5 champs with heavy damage. then if she lives for 3s another huge damage burst, and a 1.5s stun. His is only 3 targets. hers all 5 potentially.
his is 50/70/90 +.2 ap/s.
hers is 175/250/325 +.7ap. and again at the end.
so hers does more damage instantly, then his will do over 3 seconds. 150/210/270 and .6ap so her ult is FAR more powerful in team fights. its more damage, it slows, its all 5 champs, and can stun.
His ult is what, a farming tool? If nevermore wasn't such a pos, he wouldn't need his ult to farm.

He is a damage over time champ with little CC. That really has little place in the League. no burst, no CC, no range. while there are other champs that have those things, AND the same sustain, dot.
I don't find swain all that great when comparing to others.
If I wanted a champ with an aoe sustain ult. I would take anivia. because she also has a stun on call. higher aoe damage. And higher burst.
The entire package is morg.
Cass and xerath have more aoe, and more range. cass can cast forever.
brand, viegar, etc are better bursters.

Yet, I haven't seen those other mages tank like a beast like swain before. You can farm with his ult, because it's on an 8 second cooldown. If you build Swain tanky, you can almost be a front line bruiser type.

Vs. Morgana, his abilities can hit over creeps which is a big deal imo.

I mean you're right, there are other mid lane champs you should pick first just because they do more damage, but Swain has it's place I think.

Honestly swain is just useless, everything he can do, someone does it better, he can be fun in ARAM/Dominion if given enough gold and a bruiser team...
But even there the -20% heal makes him even worse. But i've done some epic things (in ARAM/Dominion) given enough time/farm.

Man i hate when ARAM just screws you... Morde/Mundo/Thresh/Anivia/Leblanc vs Teemo/Veigar/Nami/Nunu/Darius... guess who won ?

I've never stepped foot into ARAMs.

Edit: I forgot to add that his damage is pretty sneaky though. His E increased all his damage by 20% so that amplifies everything including ignite. The worst thing is his range though, which is pretty shitty. I've been thinking that ghost is probably better.

Swain is a situational AP bruiser pick that has fallen through the cracks as the roster has swelled. There's nothing wrong with him but he doesn't stand out either. He not all that great aesthetically. He doesn't have any really cool skins (Zombie Brand), he doesn't have the kind of visibility that someone like Anivia has from pro's favorite (Froggen), and his game play isn't particularly unique. I can't any see reasons for players that were not playing during his initial release popularity to pick him up. Hotshotgg did well with him in competitive play a number of times.

You know, hotshotgg. CLG's old top laner. Counter Logic Gaming. Yes, the mediocre LCS team.

They used to be somebody! And they ran Swain! Sometimes!

Iceborn vs. Trinity is more of a tough decision now. I would still do Iceborn against any team with 2 ADs (ADC + jungler or bruiser or whatever). Trinity is not terrible on him now though.

Doesn't matter what you play as long as you're having fun. Is swain ever going to be used in high level competitive play? Probably not. Although he was just used in one of those LCS Promotion series and he did extremely well, unfortunately the rest of his team kinda lost hard. In solo queue it doesn't matter what you play as I'm confident there have been thousands of people that have done swain up to challenger.

Ummm, both those ARAM teams seem kind of even to me >.<

Well normals are just too boring, i do enjoy watching them, Crystal Scar... its always the same OP champs (Akali, Jax & Friends) ARAM isn't that except when you get fucked by RNG.
Which sadly happens WAY too much ... Just did a Malphite Chogath Rumble Hecarim Thresh... obviously we got destroyed

The two main ways to play/build Udyr make his team fighting and objectives totally different. It basically depends on which offensive stance you max. If you go tiger then you want a trinity force, possibly a bork and then some defensive items. This build style makes you a killer, you dive after the enemy adc/ap carry and rip their face off with your loverly claws of doom. If you are maxing phoenix first then your killing potential gets traded for splitpush potential so you just tank up, try and catch people out with stuns and you peel for your adc as long as your team has someone else to dive/front line. The constant bear paws to the back of an enemies head makes it easy for your adc to kite, and unless you are really far ahead your crappy damage isn't a threat to their carries so diving them is kind of worthless. I would never play tank udyr as the only initiator/front liner on a team because of his ability to be kited easily and difficulty engaging a fight the enemy doesn't want to take.
