having issues playing Ekko, i am ending most games 5ish/5ish/5ish in solo Q. I am not able to burst people down fast enough and i get 2-3 shotted. there has generally always been a 15/0 on the other team in every game.

I cant decide if this is me being a bad player of if its because there is a superfed teemo/katarina/warwick/yi on the other team. Other than building Zhonnya's/Abyssal scepter is there a way to counter balance it? I usually dont give up kills early and play conservatively until i have a few items built, any advice?

Anybody read any of their lore stuff on the Shadow Isles champs? They can turn up the darkness factor pretty damn good.

Planned preseason changes for Marksmen, AD items, and Masteries

Marksmen
Caitlyn
The zone control marksmen (traps are on a charge system now)
New play feel with headshot combos (trap and E trigger a guaranteed headshot on the target)

Miss Fortune
The wombo combo marksmen (ult scaling way better, can crit)
New play feel with impure shots replaced with "love tap" new passive that gives bonus damage when swapping targets (this works well with Q)

Kog'Maw
The true glass cannon hyper carry (tons of dmg needs protection)
W now doubles ALL attack speed and allows him to break the attack speed cap (but ad is lowered to 60%)

Corki
Magic damage marksmen -> passive now does big magic damage instead of true and all spells now do magic damage
New mechanic: Special Delivery -> every ~5m in the game corki gets a special set of bombs in his base that allow him to cast a super mega W with much bigger range and impact

Quinn
The map mobility/roaming marksmen
R reworked as a utility focused spell -> 0 cooldown and gives quinn crazy out of combat speed to quickly move around the map, not used for assassination anymore

Graves
We finally made his shotgun a shotgun -> up close burst damage marksmen
Basic attacks fire multiple buckshots in a cone -> more damage up clost
Q reworked to synergize better with the new basic attacks"

Items
Infinity Edge is slightly weaker now (little less AD), we shifted power elsewhere so it's less automatic and so that we could add cooler things to the Marksman space.

Essence Reaver scales its CDR off of your critical strike chance so that it works as a big core item (think IE space). It can now give upwards of +30% CDR.

Phantom Dancer does stuff other than just be straight up damage. Bonus movement speed while near your opponents and you take last damage from the last champion you hit. Isolate and kill people, basically.

Rapid Firecannon charges up like Shiv, but when charged instead of prepping you for the thunder, increases your attack range and gives you a fiery hit at the end.

Shiv does even more damage versus minions. It's specialized further into being the bursty clearing tool.

Hurricane now crits and the bolts crit. Also movement speed. It's in the PD / Shiv space now, so it should be an option for more Marksman.

Executioner's Calling is back, but it's a bit different and cheaper. Also it's a component item. It builds into something new.

Last Whisper is now a component item. It builds into new things.
There's something called Giant Slayer. It hurts health dudes.

Merc scimitar has Lifesteal, you should feel comfortable taking it over BT.

Death's Dance exist. It has something like Lifesteal but better. Also it "delays" damage.
And tons of changes all over the place. This is just some of the marks targeted ones.

DOTA has a much, much better monetization model than League
Yeah, $4.99 for a shoulder piece you can't even see on your character in game or $23.99 for a full set that you can't tell you have on is so much better than the League skins... Literally the only thing I ever bought or would consider buying in Dota 2 is/was the Compendium.

New mastery system is looking kind of interesting. More talents that are really good, but you can only select one of the uber talents in a tier. Will still have some filler talents in-between.

And tsm freeze must happen.

For those of us who play these kind of games not because they're a virtual My Little Pony: Dress Up Is Magic! simulator DOTA gives away all heroes for free. Which in my books makes their model far superior to League.

Season 6 changes look good so far. The changes seem like they'll speed up the game a bit which is something that's sorely needed. Lots of complaining about a stale & slow metagame atm. The masteries overhaul is intelligent and finally meaningful. The new items are powerful and serve to provide more intense moments. Death's Dance is going to lead to so many close-calls (can you life-steal more than the DoT to survive?).

Rift Herald will get the aggression going early. Trade RH for Dragon or wait to contest then get both?

Only thing that seems to be missing are changes to Runes, which is fine I guess.

This reeks of, "I have no idea what I'm talking about" rebuttal. Care to screenshot an armor piece/set from the market you can't see while wearing?

If they can speed up the game so down in my lower bracket of play so it doesn't last 35+ minutes each time, that would be great.

This is the biggest reason I'm lazy to try and pick the game up. It is the reason I put DOTA2 down as well. Getting into 45m+ long games is just something I don't care to do. Pretty much requiring a solid hour of free time to play just doesn't work for me.

Game times should drop slightly on average but I imagine you should always expect at least 30min games and possibility of 45+. The changes they implement will simply start the action sooner, which could lead to quicker snowballs and thus quicker wins, but if both sides are playing the back-and-forth game, it could still drag on into a 45min+ game rather easily.

"Faster Pace" will help the e-sports scene even more. There's been a lot of "farm for 20min" games this worlds so far which sucks for viewers.

All the new changes seem pretty awesome and I can't wait til they go live. I guess I'm also one of the few that prefers longer games. It was just a season or two ago every game was decided in 20 minutes in soloq because of how snowbally it was, the whole assassin meta and such.

I always want to go back to one of these games because although HOTS is nice, these games are king. The long games really down it for me though. I can do 3 games in 45 minutes in HOTS if they're good games.

-apem (all pick, easy mode) was the only game type i played in the WC3 mod. They never brought easy mode into dota2 unfortunately. But even apem games could often go over 30 mins.
