The nerf to Wriggles also hurt her pretty bad, twin fang double proc's were nice to speed her clear time up. I think a hp%dmg effect for duration of ult, or a Stun / Slow / Knock UP effect on her flight path / landing would be a welcome addition. I also agree that her skill shot is pretty useless and needs to be worth the effort to land a skill shot.

The shame of it is that she should just have Hecarim's ult. You turn into a dragon, you fly in, some people get feared (because I'm a fucking dragon), and you run around clawing the shit out of everyone while leaving firey burning death in you wake. Instead she's got the worst Malphite ult ever. It's like someone looked at Valkyrie and thought it could be the ultimate of a whole new character. It'll do the same thing at about the same speed and slightly push people who come into contact with it! Slightly!
How weak her ult is directly related to how fast a good shyv could get it off cd after use. You just can't pack a decent ult on what is potentially such a short cd. Granted they allow it on other characters but I remember reading morello or someone talking about why Shyvs ult was weak as an offensive tool.

I'm too lazy to dig through the posts but surrenderat20.com is a great place to keep abreast of dev talk, that's where I read about the Yi changes, the Xerath changes, etc. when red posts were made about them. There are minor tweaks to Shyv on the PBE now I believe - her armor/mr got moved to her passive (and is doubled in dragon form), the old passive of stuff happening on attacks is still there but just described in each skill now, and her fury generation after rank 1 is higher (quite a lot if I remember correctly). They want to rework her E to pass through always and do like % health damage or some crazy thing but I don't think they have had the time to recode it yet.
From the sounds of it, Yi rework is probably within 2 patches, Xerath maybe 3-4 patches, Shyv not really a 'rework' so the tweaks probably next patch and remade E 'soon', and after Xerath I think the dongernator is up for a go.

*Finally* made it to Platinum this morning. As you can see, it took me way, way too many games. Had some pretty epic collapses (Gold 3 to 0 points gold 0, ~97 points gold 1 to 0 points gold 3).
Made some changes along the way that really helped. I guess they are pretty obvious.
1) Focus on 1 or 2 lanes with a few chars. Mine were mostly top/jungle with trundle/aatrox (at the end) and nautilus/rammus. I do have a ton of games with sivir and finished out gold 1 playing her a good bit.
2) Don't play while drinking. This was a pretty big one for me. The sauce makes me rambo.
3) give out lots of "Good jobs" and try not to participate in the flame war. Most of the time I can't help myself. Fucking kids.....

I've been playing twisted fate mid. Anyone experienced playing this combo? I do well laning but it's the nuance of roaming and when to gank assist.

You can easily see a lot of quality TF games by spectating the highlighted matches at the LOL screen because if he isn't banned he's pretty much a top pick in ranked. As for roaming from mid this isn't really a TF specific thing. You generally roam whenever your minion wave is pushed or when your lane opponent backs to shop.The latter is especially good because most nubs won't call MIA when they back. TF is has particularly good wave clear once he gets some levels so you can pretty much push the wave whenever you feel like. Gank assist with your ULT whenever it doesn't mean you'll leave your mid tower vulnerable AND your teleport means your aid will win the fight. So many TF's ult when the fight would have been won anyways..

Playing some TF this afternoon and when you play with a shitty team and you are down 10 kills at the 15 minutes mark, it's just GG and why bother. Especially when your ADC is like 0/6/0. It's a miserable experience.

Using some sort of algorithm it gives you a pretty good idea what your real MMR is. This will not be your exact MMR since that is hidden, but this will get you pretty close.

As a point of reference, lolking.net shows my MMR at 1492 and thathttp://op.gg/mmr/shows 1489. How much of a difference is there between yours Plaid?

Lolking isn't a good reference because it uses League/League Points only. For example, a Diamond V player with 0 LP will ALWAYS be 2200 LKS whereas they can be significantly lower: See Lumi's account (AreURdyForTheEnd), this website says he is ~1808 MMR based on his past teams.
Also it is theoretically possible to be a Bronze V that has an MMR equivalent of a Challenger player, HotshotGG made an account to attempt to do this. I believe he is waiting for the account to drop from Silver to Bronze now that he's level 30 with it. Account name: Bronziethebear. In such a scenario, Lolking will always say the account has a score of ~900ish when in actuality it will have an MMR of 2200+.
To answer your question though, Lolking scores me at 1360 LKS compared to the other site giving me a 1334 MMR.

More noob questions. Apparently Shyvanna is a shitty champ right now (apparently was nerfed after season 2?), but apparently she's getting a minor rework? Since she's on sale right now, I'm asking whether or not she's worth being picked up. I have no idea if the changes listed on the test server make a difference or not.

I would say no to both.
Talon was fotm right when S3 started, but the items that made him OP have been nerfed.
Shyvana was my favorite champ in S2, I played like 100 ranked games with her and had a good win rate. I still enjoy her, she just sucks in the jungle these days. She can't really shine anywhere. She use to be a monster in the jungle, not anymore.
If you want a guide of what champs to pursue, look at this list:http://www.lolking.net/champions/sort by popularity. Purchase champs with the highest popularity. These are the champs that see the most play, and for good reason. Easily the top 1/2 (~50 champs) of that list are all very good.
You could also sort by banned rate to see who players deem as the most OP.
