Mid or jung are optimal for carrying games at a basic level. However the most optimal is what your are good at. Sadly I'm best at top and support which made my climb slower, but I climbed at a much steadier pace then when I tried to force playing mid or when the jungle meta left me behind. So play what you are good at, you'll climb no matter what. For what it's worth between the two I'm probably a better top and enjoy it more, but it is much easier to win as a support. Timely roams and raising a fed adc along with good map control have such a huge impact on the game.

The basics of League is that the game is all about pressure. Taking & Denying pressure. Mid & Jungle absorb and/or give the most pressure and thus have the greatest impact on games. However, a top lane or bot lane that gets insanely fed will draw pressure to their lane but it's not as consistent as what a jungler or mid has to deal with over the course of many games. Avoiding ganks is denying pressure, roaming/ganking or just getting insanely fed will apply pressure. Mid/Jungler have the greatest number of opportunities but of course any lane that gets insanely fed will be able to affect the game just as much.

My theory is focus on getting really good at two roles and make one of those roles support because you should almost always be able to play it if your main role is taken.

Last game was a real pain in the ass because the enemy team went double thorn mail.Link.

Any tips or advice on itemization? I have gold up to my eyeballs and no idea how to build Yi to get those delicious penta kills and close games faster.

Thornmail on yi is probably worse than a randuins. You don't have the health to make great use of the affect. Randuins slows attack speed which would be better and gives you more health for durability vs both ap/ad.

your team was ahead until you guys lost a team fight and gave up baron. With 27 kills i doubt you could have hoped for much more. It was about team coordination and not throwing.

I've only played a few games since they put the new system in but it does seem like the number of crybabies is waaaay down. Could be small sample size, but I'm hopeful.

Scared to log on my lan account. I can understand most Spanish, but typing/writing it is a different ball game for me. Anytime you say more than 4 words in English on that server all hell breaks loose and they report you lol.

I play Master Yi quite a bit in the jungle, haven't played too much this season yet but 12-4 with him currently in high gold. I always go Devourer (with skirmishers) > bruta/vamp (get the other after) > ghostblade > bork. Grab boots if you ever have to back with a weird amount. Those are basically your 3 core items, dev(could also do warrior I suppose, I prefer dev though) bork & ghostblade.

Basically, you ult in, faceroll your ghostblade + bork + smite on a target and they melt because you do a shit load of AD, a shit load of Magic (from dev) and a shit load of true dmg from E & Smite.

Full build is Berserker Greaves, Ghostblade, Blade of Ruined King, Devourer, GA, then either IE or BT as your last item. I'd say I usually get BT probably 80% of the time over IE. IE is nice because of the extra crit damage, but with all that attack speed having BT is amazing because it's even added lifesteal on top of your bork, but since you attack so fast you can charge up that overheal shield quiite often.

Edit:

I run Smite/Teleport, 21/0/9 masteries & then Full Atk speed reds & blues, health per level yellows & dmg quints.

Biggest key on yi if you are actually going to straight is late engaging. Make sure it's and cc have gone off before actually entering the fight. I see too many fed yi players getting locked down because they don't know their moment.

Man. No one wants to let me play mid AP Rammus in team builder. How could you not want to watch Lichbane Ludens Rammus's Q on a 6s cooldown with 100% AP ratio with that high base AD for LB?

I finally tried the LAN server after you seeing you guys discuss it. Went from 124 ping on US server to 45 on LAN this morning.
Makes me sad, but the spanish voice is good for a giggle. Now debating actually making the switch or not. The US server wouldn't be nearly so bad without my character randomly teleporting a few steps away once or twice a game.

But it does explain why Riot gave the invitational players accounts on LAN instead of US.

I suppose. I just use MK LOL and it unlocks all skins for free so I dont need to buy them anymore. I hate having to grind out all the champs which im doing on my smurf right now, but its kinda fun in a way to play some of the older cheap champs.

I rarely if ever meet toxic people anymore. I think Riot has some additional matchmaking going on ... that and I only play Teambuilder.
