I think you can only ignore the jerks. The learning curve is kinda steep. I can't imagine what it's like in DotA2.

when you start out you can only play normals and before level 30 its all noobs and bad players anyway. Just ignore anyone that rages. There is an ignore feature in game. Anyone that rages in normals, especially pre-level 30 isn't worth listening to.

If i saw that case based on the ss I'd click pardon simply because you were reported for "cheating". Seeing more of the chat would be helpful, though. Also, I typically pardon more often if players are reported by enemy rather than allies. I am ok with bantering with the enemy etc but causing team turmoil through raging is another story. You werent reported by an ally which leads me to believe the enemy were just butthurt kids
It doesn't really jump off the page, but that is all of the text on the case. You can tell by lack of a scroll bar. In fact, that is another reason that the whole thing is total horseshit: there was obviously more text but it wasn't brought into the case.

There's a flaw, you dont get pre + post game chats. Lots of assholes spouting off in those.

Any multilane streamer suggestions for useful commentary for personal improvement? I'm sick of watching the top players I typically end up on. XJ9 and TheOddOne are usually the most informative but they are almost always in the jungle. I'd watch froggen all day but he doesn't stream much; love mid lane

Scarra for mid, Voyboy for top and Xpecial for support. Not really any pros that stream and commentate all lanes.

I've been watching OddOne a lot lately. I like how he explains the what's and why's for noobs like me. You guys agree with what I've read: get familiar with 3 champs in every role? Or is that too much for a new player?

You should get familiar with as many champions as possible so you understand how to play against them, however, you should only look to play as few champions as possible if you intend to climb the ladder. The ideal situation is to master champions that can play multiple roles. What you're saying is you want to be able to play 15 champs well.... That's too many champions to try and master. You'll never be great enough at any of them to be able to climb the ladder consistently.

Example, I am currently trying to play only Akali or Kha Zix, as I feel I can carry the hardest with these champions. I can play Akali in Mid or Top lane, I can play Kha Zix in Mid, Top or Jungle.

I have over 400 games played with Miss Fortune this season, I played her ADC the most but also went Mid and Jungle with her. I was able to carry myself up out of trash tier with MF but once League of Bruisers took charge the ADC role started to crumble and I realized that it is a crap-shoot carrying with ADC, it really depends if your support is decent or not. The winner of bot lane usually comes down to supports and junglers. The ADC can definitely carry in late game but getting there can sometimes be a problem and an ADC still needs an intelligent team to setup the team fights.

I try to roam a lot and make big plays with Akali & Kha Zix. Success is less determined by anyone else. I can gank other lanes and help them out instead of being the one looking for help.

When transitioning from playing MF, I went on a massive 5-day lose streak back down to shit tier. Found my new champs to focus on, now working back up pretty successfully. Its slightly embarrassing that I have 900+ games played and am only Silver III. Its been a roller-coaster ride. In Pre-Season I've been as low as 1k Elo and as High as 1500 Elo, then once the Leagues patch hit I had remained pretty steadily in Silver I but the 5-day lose streak took me down to Silver V. I'm now up to Silver III and intend to get back to Silver I shortly and then hopefully on to gold

My go-to jungler is Vi but I might add 1 more champ because it happens often where Kha Zix & Vi are both banned out.

So right now I lean on 4 champions: Akali, Kha Zix, Vi, Miss Fortune. I am very comfortable and confident with all 4.
I rarely support, supports can't carry, but if I'm last pick then I'll do it. Just play Taric if you have to support for a game. Thresh is OP right now but isn't the easiest. Taric is easy and strong.

Yeah I think I should focus on those multi-role champs like you specified. I had been playing Vi alot but I find jungling to be difficult. The map awareness necessary to have good ganks is not something i possess.

I got level 30 about 2 weeks ago. Just finished my placement matches, went 4-6. Put me in Bronze 3.

Unless you have a Dota or HoN background I'd hold off of doing ranked until you have a couple of hundred normal draft wins. Lets you get to know the intricacies of the game and practice them while at the same time not forcing other players to play with someone relatively new. Of course if you are just naturally good at the game this doesn't apply, but for your average player it will make a huge difference in your ranked success.

Ya, as someone else mentioned play some normals, learn what other champs do and work on your map awareness. Map awareness in general is huge and me personally I find it way easier to stay aware in the jungle than in lane. That being said there are tons of small stuff to learn that you may not realize. For instance I am aware of a lot of the jungle champs most used clear paths as well as how long it should take them compared to my clear time (round about time). I can usually meet them there to counter gank or ambush them along the way depending on who I am playing. Small stuff like that can make a huge difference.

Didn't they take MMR out of normals though? I don't know if a playing in a crapshoot vs. playing with players of your suggested level is better.

Normal has hidden MMR + tries to put you with people who have played a similar number of games (comparable experience or something like that).

just started playing again after a 9-12 months off. i was still watching a ton of streams but never played since w/ kids i don't get to sit still for an hour that often.

played draft normals a few days and jumped into ranked. still unranked. in every ranked game, it's been 4v5. i've been lucky so ive won more than lost at this point, but still a 4v5 in every ranked game o_O

if anyone wants to duo, friend "frisshadow"
