Some obvious shit - practice strong ADC's if they're not the ones you're used to (you mentioned Cait, she's great in pubs, so is Ezreal, MF, and even Varus if you're good at positioning). If you're blue side, farming those double golems whenever possible is also pretty big, push out the wave to their turret, go back to doubles, then return to lane as it resets. Solo queue ADC is hit or miss, sometimes their team comp can be dive heavy and if your team won't peel, you're pretty much fucked. Duo queue is definitely the way to go like someone else mentioned. I feel you on the MMR curve too, i've had to vs Plat 2-3's from Gold 4 and up.. and the skill increase is definitely noticeable. I've even had a few diamonds in my games, albeit I think that's moreso because they got diamond and then lost a shitton and are in platinum mmr now but whatever.
I am not sure if I am the only one, but if I shove to tower while their ADC/Supp is in lane then back out for doubles, they usually shove to my tower and I lose more xp/money than I gain. Generally I do it on or after the cannon minion wave, but they will realize what I am doing and I will lose 2-3 cs to the tower and 1-2 from the actual shove(depending on my hp, boots, and if I am oom when I get to doubles). MF/Ez are 2 champs that I am very comfy on, but I do not like to play unless the comp is right. Everytime I MF/Varus I seem to get a dive heavy team against me with little to no protection.

Perfect example of a slump game: 307 cs in a 30 minute game, 3 kills, 3 deaths, 8 assists. Nothing spectacular, but nothing feederish.

If they are consistently shoving to your tower and staying around, then they set themselves up for ganks from jungle. Timing the double golems will increase your CS overall, but if they are in lane and shoving hard it's more of a safety thing. You shove a wave to their tower, make them CS under tower and lose a few hopefully, lane resets back to middle and that's right when you come back. The ones you lost from not being there are dangerous to farm anyways, as you are over extended to do so. They should not be able to shove the lane all the way from their tower to yours in the time it takes you to farm double golems.

I think you are mis-timing when to leave lane or misunderstanding the concept. If the lane is frozen in middle, you try to kill a few of their ranged minions first so that by the time the next wave comes, your minion wave is larger. Then, you push hard so it's a bigger then one wave that is hitting their tower, and back off just as that wave is getting into tower range. By the time the AD/support and tower hits clear out one full wave, double golems should be dead and you are almost back in lane.

I play support a lot, and even with idiot pub ADCs we can generally time that just fine. Whenever I see that my ADC likes to auto attack too much, and isn't great at freezing a lane, I'll instead help them push the wave into tower and ping double golems whenever it does.

TL: DR Stuck in a slump and trying to figure out how to get out of it.
I've had a similar desire to pull giant clumps of my hair out from playing this game. So much so, that I found the solution to why I was losing in a series of youtube videos. Now, this may not apply to you. But adjusting how I play to follow the advice in these video's has massively increased my win %.

TL;DW Don't die. Don't rage. Assume everyone on the enemy team is smarter than you and wants your candy.

If they're shoving all the way back to your tower they aren't just last hitting which is detrimental to themselves. Good players won't shove it all the way back. About losing the CS you will lose a few but golems are worth about more gold than the minions lost. They're worth about 4-6 minions depending on type and my bot lane usually only loses a couple. It makes your CS score look worse I guess but that's the only real downside I see. It's very worth it to reset the lane though for better chance of killing them and preventing your risk of dying. I usually do ADC/support bot lane in my 5's team and we especially like Leona/Varus combo (fucking OP) and we just have so much aggression on their champs that we either kill them or get them low enough to be scared and sit back at their tower. Then we free farm until the lane catches up to the tower. With a champion killing lane like that there's especially no point in staying and trading farm under their tower with a shoved lane.

One tip I'd offer is that after the ADC has a Vamp Scepter he can solo golems easily without the support's help. That leaves the support able to babysit the lane to at least get the XP (if not the CS) on the couple minions that might be lost. We usually start with lifesteal quints on the ADC too unless we're playing a support with heals which makes it even easier for him to solo golems.

Oh, and another strat we've been loving for purple side is to buy ASAP and have bot/mid/jungle all head immediately to the enemy bot river tri-bush. You can get there at about 45 seconds in and almost always beat them there. People tend to face check that bush solo as they watch for an invade but they don't assume 4 people will be there already. Right as they step in it's just lights out first blood and back to our wolves/blue buff. If they don't show we just head back at about 1:25 and make it to wolves just as they spawn. We've never had it backfire and gets a free first blood in about 20-25% of games and sometimes 2 kills or 1 kill and a burnt flash. It helps greatly if you have a decent hard CC ability and since we often run Leona support her Q shield bash stun is more than long enough to drop anyone before they can even flash.

After first blood they often send everyone to bot assuming a red invade which can give your mid/top a decent advantage and usually throw off their jungles first clear if they normally start blue. I'm sure as we climb the rankings it will stop working as often but I can't see it ever really backfiring unless their entire team shows up to invade blue and you lose the resulting level 1 team fight. Even then you have the advantage still as you can see them coming in and get a target ready while your team is in a stack and hard to pick a target out of. I imagine they'd just back and call it a loss after the first death though.

The other thing they often do is assume a red invade so counter invade your red. So to help counter that we usually have top sitting near our red while the other 4 are in the bush and if the gank succeeds he drops a ward on our red and heads to lane. If all 5 come to our red we just let them have it and then their lanes are down pretty hard in experience. Usually they just send 3 or even the jungler going in by himself since they assume everyone on your team is down bot. Then you can just have top/mid/jungle converge and usually wreck them again.

Elder Lizard Frozen Fist Ezreal.... holy shit so broken good. Dueled a fed Khaz 1v1 and raped him, then Ba?n made an incredible flash max rank hook on thresh to kill him.

edit: To be honest, I thought the build sounded garbage and was silly, but the power is so surprisingly high.

I told you ;p You have such good poke and great area control. It's just silly.

I think the only backfire to that build is if you get behind it doesn't give you enough damage to catch back up in teamfights. Oh well, great games tonight with Bain

Soon he will join the ranks of the Gold and the race to plat will continue.

Yeah, if you go for the standard lizard elder -> frozen fist you can really fall behind, but if you just swap the position of the frozen fist I feel like you would be just fine. Lizard Elder is still 2000g for 50 AD, 14 Hp/5, 7 Mp5, 10% cdr, and its unique passives. I don't think it would ever not be worth buying on him.

I just had a terrifying game. Our team was Panth top, zyra mid, fiddle jungle, me on ezreal, and lulu support. Every team fight was 4 aoe ults and their team just melting. I almost had a penta and zyra almost had a penta as well.

Anyone playing much Nautilus support? I went against one twice in the past couple days and both times he'd go MS boots early, talk about a royal pain in the ass. Both times we had to be VERY passive otherwise he'd just hook, stun / slow and if we made a move on to the enemy ADC he'd just ult me.

I'm curious about the Elder Lizard, are you getting the machete as a first item then building it accordingly or doing it as like a second item after BT?

I'd probably start longsword+2pot like I normally do as adc. Going machete wouldn't be very beneficial for trades and pokes.

I thought machete only gives extra damage to jungle creeps, not lane minions. If so, it would be terrible for a first item.

Its your first item usually. If you don't have the 2200 to built on your first trip back then you grab a sheen or a vamp sceptre (if you really need the sustain). Not worth buying just the components since they don't do a ton in lane. But if you can complete the total item early then it does really well in lane (passive does apply to lane creeps) and it is applied by Q so your harass is like perma red buff minus the slow. Makes for great dragon control as well because if the enemy jungle shows anywhere far away from drag you can two/three man it with ease.

If you hit six items you sell it late game for a ga or another damage item since its damage and utility fall off after a while. However mid game with Lizard elder/Iceborn/Last whisper is a stomping ground for you. Q's chunk anyone without high resists for 20-25% of their health and they can't come anywhere near you because of the slow procs. You do either need to win early or have another viable source of damage on your team for late game. Your damage out put just doesn't hold up against another late game carry and that will hurt your team if they try to hard engage without someone else to supplement your damage and kiting abilities.

edit:

Grats on the penta! I still only have two. Got one on Ahri back when she was op and the enemy team tried to baron while they were all low health. That was a 1v5 haha, two if you count baron. The second was on Varus, when he gets going the damages are pretty sick and the utility with his ult, I love it.

Lumie's game history makes no sense... congrats on Diamond V though!

His Last 10 games were:

Win
Win
Win
Loss
Win
Loss
Loss
Loss
Loss
Win

So the last 3 games were wins for the Best of Five series but there was a loss right before, how the hell do you start a series on a loss? Before that was a win, so I can see maybe the series starting off that win and he actually went 3-1 in the series, but before that win was 4 losses, so it seems unlikely that even that win could start the series, especially if you consider clamping and all the other bullshit.

http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/37248897#history

It does say he is Diamond V with 0 points, so I am not doubting him at all. All 10 games are Ranked, too. Just seems very very odd.
