Ugh I didn't get a message about getting demoted or about to. Not that it would have changed the outcome of these games, but still pretty sucky to be in gold then silv 1

Still a new lvl 30, but why do people tank games?
98% of people want to win. I think that's important to remember, especially if you don't want to become the troll who bitches at everyone who does something you don't think they should have.

Primarily people do poorly just because they're bad at the game. There's so much nuance to this game, which requires a deeper level of understanding and analysis than most people are capable of. So they make poor choices, don't understand the flow of the game, don't understand matchups, don't understand the importance of objectives over kills, etc.

The other half do poorly primarily because of their egos. These people constantly put themselves on tilt because they can't handle playing with other people that they can't control, and can't accept that everyone makes mistakes. And once they're playing poorly because they're on tilt, they can't accept that they're also at fault for losing a game, and instead blame their teams and rage and whine, etc.

I was pretty sure I was going to lose Plat the same day I got it but I finally managed to win a game.

I don't have a problem at all with people being able to fall out of tiers with this season but I think it's unnecessary to require players to do another best of five to get back to where they were. When your MMR is high enough it should just advance you right back to whatever it was you were at.

Riot Games, of Santa Monica, Calif., said it now counts more than 27 million gamers playing ?League of Legends? each day, more than double the 12 million it counted in October 2012. The company also said it has counted peaks of over 7.5 million customers playing the game at the same time each day, up 50% from the 5 million the company counted in March of last year.

Been playing Trundle Support in normal. I get bitched at about it and then I setup kill after kill for my adc and they love me. Also after making phase I build BOTRK and start getting my own kills. I feel super valuable in team fights end game.

Not sure if I will try this in ranked but holy shit it is fun and is working thus far.

Finally won my promo series back to gold. First game went well. Second game I was honestly surprised we won. Had a "top only or feed" dick in the lobby, who went full damage Renekton and almost AFKd because Yi wouldn't go tank. Our Ashe, sat at Nexus and did nothing all game complaining at being zoned... ended the game with less CS than I had as Thresh. Whining and calling the team noobs the entire game.

Third game, I had that same Renekton in the game, but playing Olaf went 0/8 and raged hard at our Vi... for not winning his lane for him. I can't make this shit up. But we pulled through.... somehow. God damnit that was some awful shit. I don't think I have ever experienced such a string of toxic ass players.

i'd suggest including a screen shot of charts you can make with this data
For here or reddit? I don't have an imgur account so didnt bother including any for reddit. I might make an instructional video in the future.

Theres tons of stuff you can do though since every single statistic from every game can be archived. All kinds of damage numbers (taken/recieved/type), items purchased. You could create trends for how often you win with x item or as y champ or as team Blue... etc.

I took some quick screens for here:

I've played a ton of games and it always amazes me how little impact I have....good or bad. Perfect example was last night. Played jungle, started out like 2-0-3, with a countergank triple kill bot (I got 1, lane got 2) and 2 kills top (me one, laner 1). Mid was doing fine. I figured, fed Nocturne, two lanes ahead, one even...GG. Except, we lost. Next match, I was 0-4 in lane as Thresh support. I just played dumb and bad. My ADC wasn't that great either. Our jungle was Fiddle and just farmed. We were down 14kills and I had like 8 deaths, which is pretty much unheard of for me in any kind of close game. Ended up winning. It seems almost random through Gold 5. Cant speak to higher ratings.

FYI. Not bitching about it. It's just a very weird aspect of the game that doesn't compute. There are people out there that can carry, for sure. I just dont know how they do it. When you watch them play via streams or whatnot, they don't look good, they just make everyone else look bad. I guess its relative.

Best thing you can do is try and herd all the cats in to useful objectives. Harder to do if you aren't doing well, but if you're ahead in lane/jungle or whatever just start calling shots. Make the rabble fight for every dragon. Make them take turrets if you can't contest a dragon. Don't waste a double kill bottom without taking something else with it (dragon, lane turret, blue buff, whatever) etc. Individual mechanics and skill will only get you so far, it's objectives and map control that decide the vast majority of games.

Your Nocturne game, did you go take dragon off the triple kill counter gank? If not then losing that game was probably your fault. Kills are such a minor part of gold advantage and map control that you really can't rely on the scoreboard at all in most cases. There are a few fringe example like a Kass or something being 6-0, but for the most part the scoreboard means jack shit and all that matters is dragons and turrets and ward coverage/control.

What are some of these nuances that you speak of? Like, what do you do differently now than you did 200 wins ago? What separates top players from good players?

I really hate people sometimes.
Was on a 6 game win streak with Yasuo and decided to duo a game with Xalara.
The game started off really rough with enemy jungler, Elise, getting really fed. Our ADC craps his pants and quits 10mins into the game.
As a 4v5 we actually won a ton of fights and even aced and took a Baron and we were even ahead in kills but we were down an inhibitor and a lot of turrets.
We had ~34 kills to the enemy's ~32.
At about 40 mins into the game our ADC logs back in, he's a level 11 useless twat but nobody rages at him. He's encouraged to farm.
We lose the next team fight and the enemy team pushes our nexus to win the game.
It's really amazing how many people give up in Silver. I need to get the fuck out of this hell hole asap.

Yeah it was a rough game

If Lucian had stuck around we would have won.

Oh well, gonna have to get better at some other jungler since all my favorites (before they were cool) are banned these days.

Every game I play I hope the enemy uses their first ban on either Lee Sin, Elise, Vi, or Kha'Zix so I can use my bans on the rest.

Trundle might be your guy, rush BOTRK and enjoy.

Went 6-4 in placements and landed in bronze 3. Won 3 straight and should be getting to bronze 2 soon. Been only playing Trundle, Top Jung or Supp. Having a blast with him.

Trundle might be fun. I am also decent with Kha'zix in the jungle too and he isn't banned much. The only issue is when the team needs a tank.
