When you look down and see the treadmill all illusions vanish. I liked Crowfall because they so seriously fucked things up so bad all over the place and with every iteration it was like doing parkour over lava to figure out what they were thinking/trying to do. The systems systems had systems that would alter systems. It was a glorious trainwreck of hunh what the fuck. I kept me interested for years.

Lost ark is a very polished set of rules that have and again over and over. And over and over. And over and over. Good game, love some of the sound and art and gameplay, but I have done it. Over and over.

I think I need to get into drugs and booze, I have heard good things.

I tend to quit all the MMO's once I hit max level and have done the dungeons and easy mode raids. I love FFXIV but once I finished MSQ and did the raids I just stopped logging in.

I can see myself quitting once I hit Tier 3 and the gear wall. But will see how it ends, maybe I continue doing collections etc for skill points.

Yeah personally I stopped progressing a while ago, I'm just improving my account atm, getting skill points, completing una reps, getting a bunch of chars leveled up too. Once I get everything set up I'll probably quit until they add content(and I don't mean Argos, there's no way I can do Argos when it releases, more like whenever they add a new class and more catch up mechanics to go higher, could be same patch as Argos though but we'll see).

Can't say I'm disappointed by my 50euros purchase though when I have 410hours logged already(granted a bunch were due to leaving the PC on while I slept to dodge the queues, but that was only for a limited amount of time, still probably 350ish hours of actual playing).

Finally got the last piece to combine after pity upgrading my weapon set me back quite a bit. 1370 & Argos ready now:

Finished most of my skill points (at 354) but still need to increase virtue stats for Nia and finish her rep or get a lucky star from Anguished drops. Alts should be pushing into T3 soon, hoping to at least get my Berserker to 1370 before Argos as well but the timing there is going to be rough.

I can certainly see a point where the game just kind of drifts off. I found Guild Wars 2 had the same problem and this game has a lot of those mechanics in it.
I feel like the game eventually enters "maintenance" mode. Where you're basically just logging in to complete dailies and such, then playing other shit between content releases. Which is totally fine for a game that has no monthly fee.

Shit I leveled to 50 and I’m still just throwing random shit at things. Works most of the time, sometimes I just instantly explode.

I watched some videos to figure it out. This has helped me to know that I am bad.

Got the T2 Abyss down today. 3 wipes on the last boss then he went down. Seems most fail groups are when people cant do the stagger mechanic.

Ive figured out you can get some serious fail-boat RNG when it comes to match making. Some "meta" builds for classes have shit-tier stagger checks and its god awful.

Seems I missed the Abyss Dungeon quest line so will need to run it again next week. Thought it was wierd it had a story with a NPC I had not talked to yet. Is it mainly to unlock rapport with her?

Kinda, but everyone can use whirlwind grenades, and it's enough to make the check. What happens most of the time is fucking idiots using dmg abilities that have low/no stagger(even though most stagger checks also have damage reduction so you're just wasting damage cooldowns for no reason), or in the case of this boss, people not doing the stagger check at all, instead fucking off to the side to start killing yellow orbs, even though everyone will die if the stagger doesn't succeed.

So far I've been lucky that the 2 classes I've played through this abyss have been stagger heavy classes(Scrapper and Shadowhunter) so I usually don't have issues with the staggers, but not looking forward to "I never have shit up when I have to do stagger checks cause I'm spamming skills constantly" Blade. I change some of her skills to do more stagger on her, same for Paladin I switch the circle shield thing for some stagger/destruction melee attack on fights like that.

Yeah,

That fight is horrible. If it is the one I got stuck in last night. The frost giant that summons 2 NPCs that have to be killed just so you can stagger the giant when he goes into permakill mode. Oh, and by the way, .....breathe. What the fuck to that added mechanic. Why is it that underwater instances/raids always have to be shitty.

Oh no that's the easy one, I mean the one at the very end, he does a stagger but at the same time there's another wipe mechanic that starts where yellow orbs spawn and move towers the middle and if too many reach it you just die. And people go fuck off to kill the orbs asap, instead of doing the stagger check first(which will kill you way before enough orbs reach the middle if you don't do it).

The one with the adds honestly isn't hard, people just need to split properly, however you do need the use items or the right skills for that one cause the adds have Destruction shields, not stagger shields, and not that many skills have destruction(especially if you don't tripod it). The checks are pretty low though I think a single destruction bomb+1 or 2 weak point lvl 1 skill will pop their shields.

That sounds just plain unfun. I just played the story up to the point where you have to get 460 gear score. I know it's nothing compared to the master gaming race here who is like almost 1400, but I saw the Korean daily grind, where you slowly level up forgettable gear by doing daily work, and, well no thanks!

I did enjoy the exploration aspect of the game, and the permanent stat boosts you'd get for things like Hidden Stories.
