Probably sequestered away somewhere we just didn't see. The boys get trained for war, the girls go somewhere else until they mature. The hot ones go into the vault, the rest are used for baby/milk production until they are too old, and then just left with the masses in the melee for water.

This movie wasn't meant to give an entire back story or history. Even if the sequels don't answer enough questions...that is just fine. Not all movies need to have everything explained or even anything. Just enjoy the movie for what it was and symbolizes...pure, unadulterated fun, violence, and action.

3 more movies? had no idea this was part of a new series, i thought it was just a novelty update.
From wikipedia:

In 2011, Miller and McCarthy found during the writing process for Fury Road that they had enough story material for two additional scripts. One of these, entitled Mad Max: Furiosa, had already been completed, and Miller hoped to film it after the release of Fury Road. In March 2015, during an interview with Esquire magazine, Hardy revealed that he was attached to star in four more Mad Max films following Fury Road. In May 2015, Miller told Wired magazine, "Should [Mad Max: Fury Road] be successful, I've got two other stories to tell." Later in May, Miller revealed that plans for the sequel had changed and the working title for the next installment will be Mad Max: The Wasteland. It was also announced by Nerdist that the sequels will be prequels and actor Hugh Keays-Byrne will return as Immortan Joe.

I'd be fine with him leaving it at Fury Road. You can't top this one. Quit while you're insanely far ahead.

If the prequels are done as individual stories that just happened to happen before this film,, I'm all in. If they start answering questions I'm not asking like fucking midichlorians, I'ma be pissed. Like many above, I don't give 2 shits where all the warboys came from.

This. Long as they don't go trying to connect the dots I have hope. Even if they are only half as good as fury road they'd still be 10x better than any other movie.

Just saw this with 5 other people, 3 women and two men, all between 25 and 35. Everyone loved it. I think that's a first for my group.

My girlfriend was literally bouncing in her seat in anticipation for this movie to start. I thought it was really good. Damn near non-stop action.

I liked how you kind of got to glimpse into the life of the crazy white warpaint guys.

Oh I should add, I overheard an actual gaggle of bluehairs and bushybeards rave about how awesome it was. There is still hope.

I would trust him with prequels. It's Mad Max. It's basically post-apoc conan stories. There are a TON of conan stories, and most of them are pretty good. I might expect more of a Mad Max (the first) vibe though instead of a Road Warrior vibe. And he probably wants to remake beyond thunderdome. That one probably got away from him.

If he was gonna push trash just to cash in on a Title he would have done it with Fury Road. Is my thinking, at least.

It has been 30 years since he started that Mad Max trilogy after all. As good as it is, probably no one below 30 knew what the hell Road Warrior was before Fury Road. He pushed 3 great ones to start his career. He's been doing it for a lifetime now and he can obviously still do Mad Max. JUST PLUS GOODER.

Best movie I have seen at the theaters in probably 10-15 years, or more. Will be the first movie I buy on DVD since 2004!

God, when those motorcycles were leaping over them and tossing grenades---the music, everything was just masterpiece level stuff. This movie deserves an Oscar, and all other directors should be forced into Mad Max boot camp so they can stop leaving me steaming piles of shit at the theater.

I will definitely purchase this movie. It will also force me to buy a Blueray system.

I'd given up on Action movies for so many years, that I haven't even bothered to buy a Blueray player.

Just saw it, you guys are way overhyping it. It's a mediocre movie on it's own. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend ear plugs as the theater had the sound turned up to 11 (really I think they did, I could hear the speakers humming), and there's not enough dialog to worry about missing anything. Also, they did a good job of making the dialog understandable despite the music and explosions. I can't think of a single time where I wondered what someone had just said other than when they were chanting, in which case they repeated it again right away, so problem solved.

I liked it, but that might only be because I like Mad Max. If you had no history with max, you're probably not going to give a shit what's happening to him. My wife never saw the originals and it was bad enough as a stand alone movie that she's now pissed at me for 'making her go'. It's weird because between the 2 of us, she's definitely the bigger action movie buff. A movie doesn't get more action-packed than this, so I asked her what the problem was, and she just said she didn't give a damn about any of the people.
