What's the point of posting if you're not giving your honest thoughts but changing your opinion to avoid negs? You might as well say nothing. Negs are just a number from people whose opinions you most likely don't care about so it really shouldn't matter much; it's not like they're your friends or family. I don't relate to passionate nerds/geeks/sports fans so seeing this behavior is like observing animals in a zoo. It's so foreign to me. I guess I'm just not fight to the death, frothingly passionate about much except an occasional person.

Saw the movie on opening weekend, and since then my opinion keeps getting more... positive! I find myself just weirdly imitating the characters and quoting the crazy shit they said " I had a brother! A baby brother! And he was perfect! Perfect in every way!" Can't find my utensils for grilling? WHERE ARE THEY? WHERE IS SHE TAKING THEEEEEEEEM? Been since the 1990s since I've done that kinda of shit, damn it feels to have fun watching a movie.

Best laugh for me was when Joe gives Nuks the gun and then he trips and loses it. Perfect delivery and timing in that scene.

You would have to first of course find where I ever actually said it. In fact if you look at this very movie a few pages back I even complained of a few issues in it I didn't agree with instead of following the herd.

this board has always had people who think if you criticize aspects of a movie even if you repeatedly say you liked/loved it, it still means you are just a filthy hater with horrible taste. it gets tiresome having to defend what you said even when you already prefaced that you did like the movie, but there were problems with it. road warrior is probably one of my all time favorite movies, but even that has some issues, such as the siege on the oil refinery, those guys were thieves just like the lord humungous people, basically there was no good guys max was saving, he was just helping thieves escape alive from other thieves. which is cool with me, but it does somewhat alter the good vs evil aspect of the movie.

even the gyro captain who becomes a major hero of the movie is a shady character himself. he was totally lusting after that young girl, cant really blame him as she was the second cutest chick in the movie, the first being the angry brunette. angry brunette would have ripped the gyro captain's balls off and fed them to him if he so much as glanced at her.

I skipped out of work because I had some extra hours and went to see this today. This is the best action movie I have ever seen. One of the best movies, for sure. I am blown the fuck away at how good this movie was.

Saw it.....and I really wanted to love it but only I like it.

It's a great action movie, stunts, practical effects, good pacing, good soundtrack, good villains but....but I don't know why it's not better (or at the same level) as Die Hard, Aliens or Predator.
Maybe I have to see it again but for now I give 6/10.
My only gripe was tom hardy speaking like a neandarthal. I know he must act like a lonely man who doesn't give a fuck but ffs it was fucking stupid.

Oh anyone noticed that in some scenes there were some sped up shots? Maybe an homage to Mad Max 2?

I think it at least stands toe to toe with all of them, but this is far too apples and oranges. Just because they are all "action movies", but all of them were aiming for different types of movies and did it well. Aliens and Predator are the only two of the four that even seem similar in tone and pacing to me.

All three of those movies have charismatic leads that the movie really focuses upon. I'm not sure you can say that about MM. I personally don't think that's necessary but maybe that's something you're missing.

Maybe you're right. In terms of action movies, my top 5 is (not in order): Die Hard, Predator, Aliens , Robocop and Matrix. Except for the last one, the other 4 have what you were saying, charismatic lead.

t2 is an extremely well done film, its got a few faults, arnold is a terminator who doesnt kill people and asks why you cry. edward furlong is a douchebag. otherwise it was perfect
