I wouldn't be surprised if whatever happens in France is mentioned briefly, maybe via Megan during a phone conversation. However, I seriously doubt it will play any significant role or be a major plot point in the show. Most Americans who lived through that time and remember the exact place they were and what they were doing when King and Bobby Kennedy died aren't even aware anything of significance happened outside the USA at that time.

Anyway... good call on Megan's father: he mixes all the necessary ingredients to be interested in May 68, but while he has been mentioned a couple times, he only has been in the one episode.
He's in more than one right? I recall him being in multiple episodes last season. Unless the episode he was in was that awesome. I remember there was the episode when Megan's mom gives Roger a blowjob. Was that the same as the episode with the Heinz pitch at dinner? Because I thought he was in that one too.

Do you suffer from some form of autism? Not all discussions are about being right. What's the problem with speculating what will come next in the show and debating about what could or should be in it and how? It's a fun intellectual exercise, it's a testament to the thematic wealth of the show and it's a springboard for potentially interesting digressions... you know... the kind of things one does on a message board? Engage in discussions?
Yes, I hate discussion and I have autism.

Nothing wrong with speculation. All I said was when you get to the point where your doing the "my speculation is right and yours is wrong" routine, in my very humble opinion, you have entered the realm of being a dipshit.

Didn't foresee the merger. How are they only going to have one more season?

Well, the question of Peggy's future role on the show has been resolved I think, there really wasn't much more that they could do with her without shifting the focus of the show. For now I like this new development.

Marie's comments at the restaurant were gold and yes, Pete is a giant douche bag.

I enjoyed the reference to M.A.D Men

Pete's father in law move was something I saw coming. He figures what the fuck does he have to loose? His family will forgive him and she will leave him. Well played I think.
And the merger nice surprise. " I just want you to know am against this if it doesn't work"

That was an excellent episode. Really good. I am loving the idea of the merged company already.

Well, as you thought, the Paris stuff was mentioned in passing...I guess the Doctor's son is headed there. And it was through Megan's parents.

That was an excellent episode. Really good. I am loving the idea of the merged company already.
The best part was Don's face when he said "We got it"...And the slow realization for Peggy that Don was her boss again, LOL. On a good note, it looks like Don is going to be very careful not to upset her.

And yeah, as a merged company, they are pretty damn big now, right? They have DOW and Chevy, those two accounts alone are massive.

Also really like how Roger is getting his mojo back--That was a brilliant take down of Chevy.

That episode was so fast paced and fantastic. I hope Peggy drops douchelord McGee vice admiral of liberal faggots.

Yea, he is getting more annoying. That neighborhood sucks. Peggy is not the hippie socialist that he is. It doesn't seem like their relationship is going anywhere soon though.

I laughed at Peggy getting out on her own, and suddenly she's back to working for Don.

Joan letting Don have it was also excellent. Perfect portrayal of his attitude.

I love this show, yet every Sunday I completely forget it's on. It's always about 11pm when I realize "HOLY SHIT MAD MEN WAS ON" and I get all excited

Mad Men is the only show I actually watch live. The NeoGAF thread for Mad Men is a great companion during commercials. Since I wasn't 100% sure it was Pete's father in law he saw at the brothel.

Also I didn't understand Joans shit-fit she threw. She stands to make, according to Pete, 1 million dollars (which is what like 10m these days?) just for spreading her legs for a creeper. My asshole cheeks would be wider than the grand canyon for that kind of cash.

Good episode. I wonder if Megan and Marie will get into it soon. Sure, Megan is an actress, but not the kind of actress Marie would have any respect for.

I look forward to this show just as much as Game of Thrones.

Well, she stood to make all that money before Don lost the account. I think the deal was dead with Jaguar leaving. Basically Joan was all but forced into whoring herself to help the company, then Don goes and ruins it because he can't placate the guy just once in two opportunities.

Plus Joan sleeping with that guy wasn't strictly a financial transaction. There was a good deal of coercion involved, so even though she made out well financially, prostitution is psychologically a whole lot different than semi-coerced prostitution. There is also the being-taken-for-granted aspect. If I was pressured into something I didn't want to do, for the good of my company or family, then later on someone just undoes everything I sacrificed for as if it didn't matter, I'd be pretty sour too.

I read a little about the 1968 Democratic primary and it's pretty crazy. Johnson was initially running for a third mandate (made possible by the fact he did not serve two full terms) and it was assumed he would run unopposed as he was the incumbent, but McCarthy decided to challenge him as an anti-war candidate with the support of the youth and the intellectuals (that would be Abe). Johnson won the New Hampshire primary, but the result was close enough to motivate Kennedy to enter the race (his support came mainly from catholics - Peggy? - and minorities - the neighbors!), which was perceived by McCarthy supporters as a serious bitch move. This decided Johnson to leave the race and vice-president Humphrey to run. This is where it goes really crazy: Humphrey did not enter a single primary. He brokered for delegates with the Democratic party apparatus of the states that did not have primaries and with the 'favorite sons' (guys who run only in their home state to then trade their delegates' vote for promises regarding their state). Humphrey won the nomination in the end (and likely would have too even if Kennedy did not die), but that's really the kind of bullshit that could turn people away from politics.

Yeah. And Don always does this, he only seems aware of his own needs and wants. He makes decisions which at this point impact hundreds of other people, but he only cares about his vision. He doesn't care about the sacrifices that other people have had to make, or the plans they may have had. It's the Don Show.

What I didnt get was why Don telling the Jaguar Dealer guy to hit the bricks would cost them the whole account. We already saw in the earlier episode that hes jut the head of the Dealers. The Jaguar Corporate team was a different group. We saw the division when Fatty wanted Don to change the campaign. So why does he all of a sudden control the account?

I think they only had Jaguar's US business, and he has a lot of autonomy regarding US stuff.
