Heh, it's giving me time to be oppressed by schoolwork. OPPRESSED! But yeah, I enjoyed this season. I read an article about halfway through the season about people thinking it was moving slowly or something and I have to wonder what show they have been watching. It was just like the other seasons.

Also, I hope we never see Megan again.

think she said, "I treated your children nicely at the beginning because i felt sorry for them. now i just think i am in the same boat as them" paraphrasing.

boner killer.

Hardly, Sally and Ted definitely got it way worse. And Megan gave just as good as she got. She is an awful person.
How did Sally and Ted get it worse? Sally was accidentally exposed to something awful, and Ted threw all sorts of tantrums because Don was basically just not engaging him at work. He actively cheated on Megan, and even talked about it with his mistress. Accidents and ignorance < malice, imo.

Meh, I don't think it was malice. He didn't love Megan anymore, she misrepresented herself to get with him and once she had him that all fell away. He never would have married the flighty actress who hates kids and thinks advertising is boring. He completely ignores Sally, lies to her all her life, and only pays attention to her after exposing her in a pretty raw way to who he truly is. And Don really fucked over Ted over and over.

Don really fucked over Megan because she lost an awesome TV role because of him. I'd be insanely pissed if I quit my job to be with someone and then they said "lol j/k bro".

I don't get all the Megan hate. She wasn't perfect, but Don was terrible to her while she was being faithful to him, taking care of him, and genuinely caring about his health and well-being. She might have been a "flighty actress", but she seems like a genuinely kind and loving person, and Don stomped all over that.

I don't think she misrepresented herself. Megan changed after her father visited. Until he rubbed her face in how she'd set aside her dreams of acting, Megan was thriving at Sterling Cooper. Her father hated Don and everything he represented, and that little seed of doubt he planted eventually soured the marriage.

I don't think just being faithful is an accurate gauge of a relationship. And she only supported Don as long as he did what she wanted. Look at her meltdown over "We can't go to California right now" or "I can't put you in that commercial".

Megan's father didn't turn her bitter or make her hate the kids. She even had a scene at the end where she admitted it. Bro, she wore a mask to nail Don, much like the masks all of the other characters wear on this show. When you pull it off Megan is a totally different person than when we met her.

I don't agree with this. He comes home and randomly says "let's drop everything here and move to California, even though you've got a great job and are actively living your dream of acting in a successful TV show." Don said he needed the move to California, that he couldn't go on like he had been in NYC. She agreed to the move out of concern for him and his well-being.

And then he pulls the rug out from under her.

I also think it isn't fair to say that Megan "wore a mask" to get Don. It's not like she plotted and actively tried to con him into marrying her. She really did love him deeply (I don't see how anyone can doubt that fact) but she gradually changed as a person after they got married. People change; if you're a well-adjusted individual who loves your partner, you deal with it. If you're Don Draper, you go fuck some other broad and drink yourself into a stupor.

Megan basically rode on Don's connection, got her first role and lived off his money while rest of her friends and colleagues lived in shit rooms with four people. Now that she doesn't "need him" anymore, she questions their marriage and decides to drop it altogether.

just imagine what she would do if she finds out about his affairs. Hello, divorce.

I think that was the intent of the story, that we were supposed to see in hindsight how drastically she changed and question whether she was ever real or if this is the true Megan. I come down on the latter, I think she liked Don, maybe loved him who knows, but she saw an opportunity and she took it. And kept taking, and now that things changed and she doesn't get to take, she's leaving.

think trudy is one of few characters who stayed true to herself. She is pretty stunning to me but I am not sure. someone might have different take on that.

Trudy is the best person on the show, no question. She was willing to forgive Peter for an awful lot, until one of his side pieces shows up bleeding on her doorstep. I think that would be the last straw for anyone.

Yeah, Trudy and Pete's brother are pretty legit people. Pete's brother has had some greedy intentions at times with the whole inheritance thing, but he's a relatively good guy overall.

Oh, and poor poor Don's little brother. Damn he got it bad.

Well we haven't really spent enough time with them to see their moral failings. If you saw as much of Gay Bob as you do Pete's brother, he would seem like a great guy.
