Unlikely based upon his previous posts. Israel is launching the ground invasion now because just hours prior to their announcement, they intercepted a heavily armed 13 man Hamas squad exiting underground tunnels intent on killing the residents of a nearby kibbutz. So they're going in to destroy the tunnels. That and the fact that the "humanitarian ceasefire" ended just this morning and within 1 minute Hamas started the rocket attacks again. But I guess it's easier to allude that somehow Israel was involved in shooting down that airliner than it is to actually educate oneself on the details.

Maybe, but it's pretty hard to deny that the likely outcome of this is going to be Russia getting a chunk of Ukraine and Israel pummeling the fuck out of Palestine unhindered, while we basically levy a couple sanctions that hit the Russian people and not the plutocrats running the place. If Russia had instead provided these terrorists with a nuclear weapon and they had gone off and used it inside the US, how does that make Russia any less culpable than if they had launched it themselves? They need to be held responsible for the dogs that they choose to unleash. This is 100% Russian exported air piracy.

Based on the media this afternoon it seems that U.S. officials are starting to suggest that Putin has possibly lost control of the rebels he established in eastern Ukraine. I'm guessing it's unlikely that a trained Russian air defense unit would fail to identify a heavy civilian airliner....but the rabble Putin has destabilizing Ukraine for him? Looks like someone's getting himself a lesson in the concept of "blowback" this evening.

Agree with you in principle about the responsibility part, but the minute we disregard the Russian nuclear deterrent when handling one of its allies is the moment that they start doing the exact same. This situation has to be handled by NATO and with care.

Nothing to do with being a bleeding vagina, and everything to do with remembering what it was like to live during the Cold War. The question is, do we want another escalation into Cold War V 2.0 over this incident, which although heinous, was not an intentional act of war as far as I can tell? Russian history shows that they always play hard ball, never want to lose face, and won't back down unless they have absolutely zero choice. They generally can't be intimidated. You either go all in with whatever Poker hand you have, or you don't play at all.

Really? Like stolen as in "we took your base and all the equipment" or stolen as in " we snuck onto your base and jacked your AA tank with missles and drove away".
