Everyone is looking at this the wrong way. The government should install radar and countermeasure systems on every airliner and man it with TSA trained countermeasure officers. There would of course have to be a marked increase in airfare taxes but, safetyisworth any price!

Not sure about the phrase "TSA trained". I don't really want the guys who wave wands over my junk and conclude pocket change is bomb on the flight with me ready to deploy countermeasures...

Well then you must not be a fan of the proposed home safety plan. It'stechnicallynot against the third amendment, because you know safety and patriotism. I mean granted having to install the TSA annex into your home is a serious consideration to continue flying the friendly skies, but safetyisimportant.

Yeah but that guy changed his plans at the last minute for this one AND the one that's missing in the Indian Ocean.
Clearly he is a spy. He is in the know, whoever is trying to kill him is desperate

"Hey guys, I know we shot down this international plane full of civilians and everyone is pissed, but what can we do to make them even angrier at us?"

I hope EU/US learned a valuable lesson from all of this.

The reality is that, after two decades of eastward NATO expansion, this crisis was triggered by the West's attempt to pull Ukraine decisively into its orbit and defense structure, via an explicitly anti-Moscow EU association agreement. Its rejection led to the Maidan protests fueled by US/EU influence and the installation of an anti-Russian administration.

If you mess with the bear, you're gonna get mauled.

Americans threw a fucking fit when Soviets placed missiles in Cuba - 1,000 miles away from D.C. but they think Russia should be perfectly accepting of a bunch of assholes clowning around in their backyard, putting missiles 300 miles away from Moscow, creating a civil war zone and then whining when a plane gets shot down over it.

What about all the innocent civilians that the Ukrainian Army has murdered so far in their indiscriminate shelling of cities in the Donbass? Don't they get any international sympathy?
