Neat little backstory. I recommend reading it (took me a couple minutes) if you're gonna watch this movie.

Not sure what planet you're from, but here on Earth a thousand years ago we didn't have satellites and comm centers that detected radio signals from under arctic ice.

"Instead of focusing on Kal-El ('Man of Steel' is essentially its own prequel story for Superman), this new 42-page comic follows Kara
Zor-El, better known as Supergirl. The story takes place around 1,000 years before the events in 'Man of Steel' and features some familiar faces like Dev-Em. But what does it mean for 'Man of Steel'? Is this setting up a larger Superman universe that could eventually include Supergirl?"
Although, I suppose the COMIC doesn't say that.

The "signal" is under the ice. ice takes a long time to form. The implication would be Megatron, that ship crashed hundreds of years ago, and the signal just turned on recently.

And if this only occurs 10 years, ago. That REALLY confirms, millions of kryptonians out there colonizing doesn't it.

I stand corrected. They certainly didn't make that very clear in the comic.

After having watched that 13 minute preview/cast introduction I am more excited for this movie than any movie since Lord of the Rings. It does show a few more tidbits but as far as spoiling the movie, not so much. If this movie is not at least an 8/10 I will just stop going to see movies for the rest of the year.

Damn. That 13 minute thing was pretty sweet. My expectations for this movie are probably way too high and unlikely to be met. I feel like I really need to reign them in but not sure if I can!

I'm not sure I've ever been this excited about a movie. I'm not even a big Superman fan and I'm about to poop my pants in excitement.

Honestly you could just string the trailers/interviews together into one long clip and already have a more entertaining film then Superman Returns.

I'm pretty confident that this will at the very least be the best Superman movie ever made. That isn't a difficult title to take sadly. If it can take the title of best superhero movie ever made remains to be seen. It being Superman gives it a edge over Avengers for me personally since I am not a big Marvel fan. However, The Avengers was just pure fucking awesome from start to finish so this movie would have to seriously deliver.

superman movies are guilty until proven innocent at this point

thats a bold statement considering superman 1 is still the best superhero movie ever made.

I feel as though this will be the movie I wish Christopher Reeves could have been in. That has to be what makes or breaks this movie at this point. If the main actor does not nail Superman, then the movie will be the 2nd best Superman movie ever made. Lord knows the supporting cast looks to be awesome.

If youre going to bring Christopher Reeves into this, then Brandon Routh did a pretty damned good job channeling him. I enjoyed Superman Returns, but mostly because of the airplane scene. I havent watched a movie on its day of release in quite sometime. This movie will break that.
