In an ideal Hollywood world, which we all know after seeing the theatrical ending to I Am Legend is bullshit, they would pack the origin into about thirty minutes, maybe forty-five, and have the rest be coming out as Superman and Zod. That won't happen because they have too big of names as his father and his stepfather to relegate them to such a small amount of screentime, but a girl can dream. Still pumped to see it though.
Hollywood's hardon for telling origin stories is sofa king stupid.

Who DOESN'T know Superman's origin at this point?

Well yeah but they are changing it a bit aren't they? Moving from Krypton blowing up due to their sun or whatever to a civil war. Which, of course, explains why later on there seems to be lots of Kyptonian ships and stuff on Earth in the trailers.

So I can forgive them a little.

Even if there is an hour and a half of origin, that's still an hour of ass-kicking. As long as the origin stuff is fairly interesting I'm fine with that. Sure, I'd like more ass-kicking, but I'll take ANY ass-kicking over the amount we've had the past few decades.

gdi. You have me watching the Lois and Clark pilot on wb.com. I remember Terri Hatcher being hotter.

Wait, is his father alive? I mean he kind of seems to imply that with 'my son IS twice the man you are' & 'you can save all of them'. Would be kind of dumb to say that when your kid was like 3 hours old and flying away in a spaceship having never met him. Plus the other scenes with him having a conversation are a little beyond the shitty hologram recording.

If not, fuck trailers anyway.
Sophisticated Hologram engrams are sort of a Superman Trope, I wouldn't anticipate otherwise.

To be honest living in Australia and seeing how much Hollywood glorify the army in a lot of films I've always thought the government has pulled strings in Hollywood to create this false idea of the army. WORLD DOMINATION YALL!

Militarism and general patrioctism are something they are taught since kids. Movies are just the obvious extention of it. I'm sure they dont even see it that way

There is a reason why they are the only country in the world where placing a flag in the front of your house is not seen as a wierd thing

(and yes, i know there are a lot of americans on this board and im not going to derail the thread any futher)

I honestly didn't know placing a flag in front of your house was a weird thing. Indoctrination working as intended?

yeah, few other countries have that kind of nationalism. Its not ENTIRELY unique to the US. but its definitely rare.

yeah, few other countries have that kind of nationalism.
Because those other countries suck and their citizens just wish they lived here so they could have a flag to be proud of!
