Also always felt people bash on Returns more than it really deserves. While certainly not a masterpiece there have been any number of movies that were far more disappointing to me.

If youre going to bring Christopher Reeves into this, then Brandon Routh did a pretty damned good job channeling him. I enjoyed Superman Returns, but mostly because of the airplane scene. I havent watched a movie on its day of release in quite sometime. This movie will break that.
Yeah, the airplane scene was pretty good, too bad the movie peaked there. Superman returns and then we get another lame Lex Luthor scheme. At least it was kinda cool when the kid squashed a henchman with the piano.

I'm in the same boat. I never worry about seeing a movie soon after release, but I definitely want to see this on the first weekend. I can watch these trailers at least once a day and every time I get chills because they are just so well put together. The music in them is superb.

if you watch all these fucking trailers you will have seen most of the fucking movie...does that not bother any of you guys?

For movies that I know I'm going to watch I will go out of my way not to see trailers.

no not really. it deserves its hate. although, the hate is often misdirected.
generally the hate is directed at it being an homage to the Donner films. which is completely wrong. While there are homages in there, those are the best part of the movie. its the parts that DON'T homage, that totally fall apart.

Deadbeat dad Superman was a huge mistake.
The cinematography was poor. only the airplane scene was really any good. most of the movie was just plain boring.

I'm the same way. I'll usually watch the initial teaser and trailer and then stop if I'm planning on seeing the movie. I've found that I enjoy movies a lot more when I know as little as possible going into them.

Regarding Superman, beyond the initial trailer and the TV spots (which are hard to avoid) I haven't watched anything else, and I doubt I will.

Except there is about 10 minutes of non repeated footage between all trailers combined. The movie is just over 2 1/2 hours long. Literally every TV spot Fedor posted is from the original trailers, there's hardly any new footage after the 3 main trailers. So literally....10 minutes of footage tops out of 153 minutes.

OMG THE MOVIE HAS BEEN RUINED.

Maybe the product placement will be slight, like it was in James Bond - Skyfall. That was supposed to be the biggest "product placement" revenue generated movie ever made, and it wasn't a glaring commercial for things. Ok, he drake a Heinikin, and they drove Audi while crashing some VW's, and there were Range Rovers, but... it wasn't extremely in your face. It was very subtle and well done. I hope Man of Steel does it the same way.

That scene where Lois asks what the "S" stands for, after Superman says it means "Hope" on Krypton, he'll go on to explain that on Earth it stands for that most crisp and refreshing of beverages, "Snapple".

I'll be pretty pissed if Superman is flying around holding a Mountain Dew and giving a thumbs up to the camera.

10 minutes is a fuckton of movie to see before you see the movie. Though I don't agree with the idea it will spoil it or anything. I just stopped watching after 2-3 trailers because I was already sold and would rather not have any more shown to me.

I'd be surprised if it was even that much really. Even in that 13 minute feature that was posted it was 98% recycled material.

In terms of trailers, my problem isn't with how much footage is shown, butwhichfootage is shown. Man of Steel has been pretty good about this, I think. They've managed to pique my interest without spoiling any major plot points of the movie. Unfortunately, that is pretty rare nowadays so I tend to avoid trailers beyond the intial ones just to get a vague idea of whether I'd want to see the movie or not.
