They did an advance screening of this here last night. Of those 5, 4 loved it and bought advance tickets for opening night that went on asle last night for the same theater. The other person said it was good but too long.
I know that's no sample size to say "MOVIE IS AWESOME EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE IT" but it was good enough for me. -shrug-
As much as I dislike Rotten Tomatos, I find it odd they have no reviews on it yet.

I have really never understood that type of criticism. It makes me think the reviewer has the attention span of a nat. If something is good, I want it to go on longer.

I've been trying to get advanced tickets but for some reason Henry Cavill doesn't seem to be getting my emails, voicemails, the shirtless pictures of me standing next to cardboard cutouts of him, and the gift bags that I've left on his door step. I keep leaving new ones every hour too. Strange!
Long just to be long or expanding on a already shitty / boring story is bad.
Great content, lots of action and great pacing can easily fill 2 to 2.5 hours. Much more than that and you run the risk of people needing to piss, stretch and is better suited for an extended cut blu ray release.
This will likely be one of the first movies I see in the theater since, fuck, 6 or 7 years.

yes and no.
You are right, that advertising tie-ins alone, have probably already made a profit. And the movie itself will unquestionably turn a profit off the backs of batman.
I would project 500-800m. Quality of the movie is completely irrelevant.
But that said, quality of the movie determines the future. Spiderman3 made 891m worldwide, but more or less killed the franchise, until they HAD to reboot it to maintain control of the trademark.
I don't really have any confidence in the writer/director/producer, but I don't expect that kind of clusterfuck either.
I think there is a chance this will surpass Avengers at the box office.
Marvel has a stronger IMO overall IP within their universe but Superman is fucking huge and a well done Superman movie could be massive, they're promoting the shit out of it here in the UK. I am already considering trying to get a ticket on opening day,it opens on Friday here, usually movies get a Thursday preview but this doesn't seem to be the case with this movie, I want to see it so much I'll go with my wife the following week again.

Anyone going to see this in 2D, rather than 3D? I really want to see it in IMAX, so might have to just put up with the headache I'll have after.
