When you were in the theater did you notice all the giant cardboard cut outs with Superman, and next to him were images of the US Army with recruitment info?

Actually didn't have anything like that in my theater, not that I noticed at least.

No trolling...being quite honest.

I thought it was awful.

Thought the CG during the Zod fights was Matrix 3 levels of bad, a lot of the story just felt wicked forced, and I really...really disliked Amy Adams as Lois Lane. I thought the military played far too prominent a role in the movie, along with all the B Movie/TV Extras. To me it honestly felt like they just kept trying to add in big names for minor roles, and those minor roles ballooned. Aside from Lois, the other four "main" characters were great (Kevin Kostner, Michael Shannon, Russel Crowe, and Henry Cavil) but damn if the writing didn't just feel awful for EVERY other character including Lois.

Anyways not trolling and not interested in getting into a massive flame war over it...I did walk out of the theater feeling like someone had just shot my dog though.
lol I was thinking, "shit... is this Matrix upped to level 9000?" during Zod vs. Superman.

pretty hilarious.

What's the main attraction between Lois and Superman again? shit didn't feel natural.

I liked the movie, but you're right the National Guard essentially acts like product placement, because that's exactly what they are. IHOP, Sears, Shell too. It's funny how seeing those in the film detracts from immersion and makes me feel like I am watching an ad, and yet seeing Wayne and Lexcorp logos brings me back in and makes the world seem more authentic.

6.5/10. I thought it was good, but not nearly on that "next level" of superhero awesomeness like IM1, Avengers, and Dark Knight. It was around 30 minutes too long, beginning sequences could've been shortened by alot, and the ending almost completely ruined the entire movie for me. I definitely want to see it again, as we had to sit fairly close to the screen, so I'm sure a lot of scenes weren't able to be fully appreciated. Nevertheless, I still felt very letdown by the movie.

Thank fuck Michael Shannon and Henry Cavil were so perfectly cast, because this movie would've been an absolute dumpster heap if not for their performances. Amy Adams was godawful as Lois.

I agree that the movie was 30 minutes too long, but only because I felt like they tried to cram way too much into a single movie. A big complaint of mine was the AWFUL way that scenes transitioned (or lack there of) within the movie and the more I think about it the more I begin to think that it is due to trying to cram an origin story in with the General Zod story.

Agreed, that was one of the incredibly forced scenes that seems like it was just in there to justify her "solving the case" of how to get rid of Zod's ship (lol black hole? I almost walked out when they said that)

She was one of the only two humans who knew anything about Superman. They mind probed her same as they mind probed him, they were just seeing if he had told her anything important

I see. that makes sense.

also,

did superman know that she would be using that S stick to override the system. why did he give it to her?

my guess is that he figured that he would be searched but they wouldn't bother searching a human? Realistically he probably shouldn't have brought the command key along in the first place

i guess things just happen.

but then didn't they just mind probe her. how would they not know that she would not have the stick? are they selectively probing her mind? *brain explodes*

Excellent. My only hope is that they do away with all mention of origins and get straight to the punch fest. Growing up in Kansas has never been interesting, and the idea that somehow growing up in the bible belt on a farm makes you more American (and have more pure morals) is trite, cliche bullshit. Was there apple pie on the windowsill, too?

I was surprised how much I liked the Krypton opening scenes. It didn't feel like Avatar to me, but more like some 1950's inspired concept of an alien world, with a weird mash of high technology and exotic biological life, and not in an overdone way like the recent Star Wars films. Was hoping they would squeeze in Brainiac but oh well. I hope the next one is with Darkseid or Doomsday. Hopefully Doomsday because it means no talking.
People from both the East and West coast are cunts compared to folks from the Midwest. Midwesterners are actually much more polite and kind in general. They may not be more American, but they certainly are better Americans. Take if from a transplanted New Yorker. I do agree that Brainiac should be the next villain though. I've had enough of Lex Luthor.

nah, I'm a big fan of Punisher, Dredd, TDK, Batman Returns and many more fine examples of the superhero genre
I really hope you're talking about Punisher: Warzone and not the abortion with John Travolta. You might need to be infracted if you're talking about that one.
