This thread has been taken over by the trolls, its no longer really a discussion about what we liked or disliked. It is instead why some people have to be hipsters and hate on it. Should make a Prometheus forum and move Araysar and the other movie forum trolls to it.
Where have I trolled in this thread?

What more do you philistines want?

I'll be first bro to Braveheart yell about seeing a Superman from Kingdom Come, Red Sun, Dark Night and the like. But we'll never see it. What Snyder gave us is a quality Superman movie with a solid foundation to build from.

Hell, instead of these Wolverine abortions we keep being presented with, why can't we see a Miller Wolverine from the mini-series or an Old Man Logan? These movie studios exist to make profits, story telling be damned. After Iron Man 3, I was a bit skeptical of Man of Steel, but luckily, it was a walk-off grand slam.

You have been nothing but shitting up the entire movie forum since your original Prometheus troll thread. Man of Steel could have been The Dark Knight crossed with Citizen Kane and you had already made up your mind to hate it. I can't wait for the election cycle. Maybe at that point you will leave the movie forum alone.

Watchmen was phenomenal. Snyder even shored up the ending without butchering the idea. The director's cut is 100% juice not from concentrate quality. Fuck the haters.
I loved it as well , when i saw it i came to praise it on the old boards. Didnt bother cause people were crying and bitching and pretty much the same tone as it is in this thread. So kept to myself and enjoyed the living crap out of that movie.

I didn't hate Man of Steel, and never said as such. How could I have since I haven't seen the film yet?

Sounds like you're the one who already made up his mind not me. Maybe you're the one who should stop shitting up this thread?

Was the non-directors cut version of Watchmen way inferior to the Directors Cut? I only saw the Director's cut and thought it was great. I never read the comic though.

Just finished watching All-Star Superman.

What a piece of shit.
Huh , you state you saw it with this. At least thats what most people take from a post like that. Also complain about the fight scene with Zod and Superman , and after doing a google i guess you couldve meant the comic series. So not sure what the fuck this means now.

The Watchmen, 64% RT
Man of Steel, 56% RT

with

Superman Returns, 75% RT
Ironmen 2, 73% RT
The Amazing SPiderman, 73% RT

The first two are just so vastly superior to the last three. Better acting, better action, better story. I just don't get it.

Uh, those people are pretty damn thick then. How is him watching All-Star Superman stating that he saw Man of Steel? Two entirely different movies.

Last I checked, All-Star Superman and Man of Steel aren't the same thing.

Reading comprehension is complicated.

Yeah i fixed my post , i just mis took his angst with the cast being an all star cast and it being labled as such. My mistake , move along and fuck both of you chiming in to not add shit to the discussion but to attack me. Assholes.

I see a lot of complaining about people that are posting that don't absolutely love this movie.

I am reminded of some of the posts made in threads like the SimCity and Diablo 3 ones. We talked over and over how you can't do half measures and buy games like this that are affronts to the industry because it just feeds the beast. No more of this "well it was good enough" bullshit.

That is why you see the vitriol from some of these people. We are tired of "good enough" comic book movies. If it wasn't great it sucked.

I also never complained about the scene between Zod and Superman.

The Watchmen was rated pretty accurately in my opinion. I had no knowledge of it before I watched it on Netflix and was not impressed. It was pretty boring from start to finish.

I enjoyed Snyder's earlier work...loved 300, thought Watchmen stayed true to the graphic novel, not everyone who hated the movie is hating on Snyder...even though a bunch of the "critics" are.

I thought it was a great movie. It was way better than I was expecting to be honest. The acting and the effects were great, and though the story could have been deeper I was definitely satisfied with it. They gave the back story in a really interesting and fun way, especially the Krypton part, and the flashbacks were a much better way to do Clark's past then having to spend 45 minutes watching him grow up. The "shades of grey" aspect to it I thought was very well done and fits in much more with modern times than the campy "everything is sunshine and roses and the bad guys are evil because they're evil" attitude of the original, which while a classic, was written in a different time for ultimately a different audience.

The real question is what do normal people like? And why is there such a large divergence from critic consensus to viewer consensus for Man of Steel?

Man of Steel, 56% RT, 82% viewer, 4.2 average rating
Iron Man 3, 78% RT, 83% viewer, 4.0 average rating
The Watchmen, 64% RT, 68% viewer, 3.4 average rating
Superman Returns, 75% critics, 67% viewer, 3.3 average rating
Iron Man 2, 73% critics, 80% viewer, 3.7 average rating
The Amazing Spider-Man, 73% RT, 81% viewer, 4.0 average rating

Interestingly the original Transformers is probably the closest to Man of Steel when it comes to critic / audience divergence.

Transformers, 57% RT, 89% viewer, 4.1 average rating
