I can't even imagine what was going through his mind to make him think "Yea man, go for it. No time like the present"

Men have been trying to bang women at work for as long as there have been women at work.

I'm just picturing Pete from Mad Men now. Didn't he do that in one episode? Just try to kiss one of the secretaries out of nowhere in the middle of the work day?

Fuckin' Pete man. Makin his own rules. Madison Avenue Maverick.

Maybe I am a total shitlord but I'd say you've got this boss right where you want him, now. He'll probably tiptoe around you for as long as you work there and stay the fuck out of your way.
This is likely true, but he has just demonstrated that he is no longer trustworthy, so I don't know what to think. I am going to continue to do my job the best I am able and seriously hope he was having a brain hemorrhage or something.

We're talking unprovoked goin in for the kiss here man. Not smooth talkin' their pants off over drinks after work. Don and Roger were men of action, not misguided school children.

Again pardon my shitlord status but how does trust enter into it, unless you think you're unsafe around him? Like I said he's probably terrified of you now, unless you think he's going to hurt you or force you somehow, I don't see how trust is an issue. He's sexually interested in you and thought, for some reason, that you were available, but if you made it clear that you're not and he doesn't push it, whats the issue now? I mean, he's your boss so it's inappropriate from the start, but still. It's not like he robbed your house and he stopped and apologized, like you said, 10 times when you said no.

Because he's her boss...

Now she has to worry about what he may do to her from a professional standpoint since she shunned his advances.

I'm starting to get the feeling you think this is just normal behavior based on your past few posts.

I've seen it happen.

Ms. Gravy is in the advantageous position here. She needs to document that this happened, and keep it in her back pocket. Go in with her iphone on voice memo and record him talking about it.

Once she does that, he CAN NOT take any action against her. If so it'll look like he did it because she spurned his advances. And she'd have proof, and she'd win. She's then IMMUNE to any of his bullshit.

Thats why I keep repeating that he's probably terrified of you and will stay 10 miles away at this point. I don't understand the "trust" or whatever fear. You own his fucking ass.

How big is your company Mrs G
Drop the sexual harassment bomb and retire?

If that's not your thing, you should know 2 facts,

1) 99/100 times there is no platonic feels in men, this interaction with a friend you though was platonic will happen to you again, so prepare yourself.

2) you now own your boss. You can decide if he is to remain married and employed. Don't abuse this power, but don't ignore it either. The best clients and assignments and projects now belong to you, just ask.....

You're assuming she has video proof and his word won't trump hers at her place of employment.

You're making a lot of assumptions about her work environment.

Maybe. He fucked up though, and now she's got leverage. How she chooses to use that leverage is up to her.

I'd just request a transfer. If the dude is smart he'll put in a good word and get it done for you.

All that said I'm a dude. If a chick pulled that on me at work we'd be out in the car banging by lunch.

Unless she was fat.

So....perhaps, respect is what I should have stated....but I will not be alone with him without a door being open. TBH, I was irrationally paranoid last night, I am over that now. It was very disappointing to me and was a serious violation of our relationship which has had a friendly component to it...not to mention...I like his wife and am a bit mortified for her.
Oh, and apologizing does not make what he did better. It was more than inappropriate.

He is my boss, and he is good at the other aspects of his job.
I will continue to do my job and to even try and excel at it, but he has a long way to go to re-earn any respect as a person.
I am really trying to look at this rationally. I honestly don't want to use it to any advantage as that seems muckraking to me. I am damn good at what I do and I don't need to use some threat of harassment for protection. I hope to goodness I don't have to, ever.
I am certain this would not have happened if G were alive...bro code and all....plus G was a big man, even with a heart condition he was intimidating.
Damn I miss him.

One more thing...Thank you. Thank you for your male perspectives and suggestions and for letting me get this out of my head and into written words.
