You guys don’t have Khane on ignore yet? Between this thread and the Parents thread there is no reason to read his posts in here. He should have been restricted from posting in this subsection for intentional trolling.

I am talking about women who actually do not want to do anything but be a mother and talk about it even before they have or are about to have their first child.
I feel like your experience with this problem is not not representative of most single men. I ran into all kinds of craziness in dating, but repeatedly finding women who just wanted to make babies and stay home was pretty close to 0. Maybe you're dressing too nice and attracting these low-effort, high-maintenance hoes. Might I suggest cargo shorts and a wife beater?

Don't forget, he is a ginger, so most women probably just want an easy life if they have to have sex with him.

My wife worked at the USPS delivering mail by foot for 9 hours a day, in whatever weather was out there, 5-6 days a week. When she got pregnant, she continued working the same job up until the day my son was born. We had a good talk about it and it made sense for her to stay home. It wasn't one-sided, it wasn't some 'plan', it was just what made sense for us.

How much better would my life be if she still worked there? Shit the income would be nice, but it isn't feasible anymore. Childcare is retarded expensive and she doesnt have marketable skills that would.afford her a salary that would grossly outweigh that price.

This isn't the first time someone has been disgusted at the thought of my wife being stay at home, especially since she does fuck all, but at least I know she's doing a good job with them. They're good kids.

I'm not disgusted with it. I just think it's lazy and that the justifications for it are almost always childish. And yea, this is not the first time the stay at home mom discussion has been had and I am certainly not the only one who posts here who thinks this. But I get people goin. I think Zyy's right, it's cuz I'm a ginger. Buncha anti-gingites round here.

Might have to report the forum for racism.

I think most single men are more inclined to settle down and get married than I am. But I'm going to try the wife beater. I'm come from a family full of Brooklyn and Long Island Italians. It's part of my heritage. Time to be with my people.

Not anymore. I was tormented about it in college. It's tough being a video game enthusiast who says "Mario" different than everyone else.

I don't have the lazy wife problem so I guess I can't really comment on that. My house stays clean and all the bullshit errands I would have to squeeze in time for after work or on the weekend generally get done so I pretty much just get to do Cad things on the weekends with my family. I mean, hey it might not impress Khane, but it works for me.

I have been back to work since June of last year, my wife admitted she was spoiled with me being at home. Clean house, dinner on the table every week day at 5pm ( nothing from a box or take out), all errands ran with the kids before the weekend. Now, that I am back to work and in a 5:30 she has to get the kids ready everyday, cooks half the meals and we both run errands in the evenings. We use Thursday evening as our "deep clean" evening and have the weekend for fun.

idk man, I work and in my off time, I don't find myself just hanging out and having fun with my kids all the time. There's shit to be done. Sure, once or twice a week we do something like that, but not every day. And when my wife was staying home, it was the same.

That's not to say that life is especially hard for stay at home moms, it's not. It's just a different set of issues and some people deal with them well, some don't. The main issue I've seen people complain about is feeling isolated from other adults. My wife dealt with that when we were in a similar situation to lurkingdirk. Strangely enough, pointing out that it was her own fault for not engaging more with local groups/meetup opportunities did not go over well.

Have you tried being not poor and hiring a nanny?

We had four kids in five years. We got to a point where we had the discussion that one of us needed to stay home to make sense of things. We both had successful careers, so it was a discussion about what made more sense. I was making a lot more money, and was in the position to get us to a spot where neither of us had to work full time. And that is what we did. My wife made the sacrifice, and did six years of stay at home. She did work some, teaching evening classes, but she spent the long days with a lot of little kids.

She craved adult conversation, she was frustrated, she was bored at times, and all that.

Should I have lost interest in her at year 2 or 3?

Shit bro, my wife and I only had 2 and yet we decided she stay home. Only a few years, shes back at work now. We would of ended up paying more for daycare than she made anyway so it's not like it was a hard choice. IDK, I was brought up in old world country with old world values though so my experience is a bit different.

Now my kids are teens and can be left to fend for themselves so we both work now. It let's us afford more luxuries for sure but it's not like we need both of us to work.
