I really like this idea too, assuming you can afford it and have room on your land for it. It sounds like your mom is unlikely to be leaving your life in the long run so may need to think about a potential solution like this that can work for y’all.

Are any of your siblings married? They should be the first to take her in. I bet it was good for you to have her move in to get over your divorce, but she can bounce around with the kids can't she? That might have been her plan from the beginning. If she's got grandkids she might prefer living with them.
My cousin was in a similar situation with my grandma. She raised him and he basically went straight from college to taking care of her. He still slayed pussy. He even brought them home but I don't know how quickly. But when he was about 30 he had a talk with my dad and granny moved in with us.

Seriously look into getting a tiny house OR building a small outbuilding that can serve as a studio apartment (no idea what kind of codes you face in your locale though). Whatever she chips into the till to live there can go towards the payment. But both of those are pretty reasonable to obtain. If not that, unless it's one of those 100% completely open concept houses, maybe it's time to convert a bedroom into a den and a living room or even the garage into her space. And I agree with

If his mom is anything like my mom, she can’t be trusted to prepare her own meals in her own kitchen. It’s fine for a few days until she forgets how the microwave works and nukes some random leftovers for 10:00, or can’t remember the timer on the oven and falls asleep or just forgets with something in the oven at 425. If she could live alone in her own space for any period of time, she wouldn’t be living with me.

The right kind of asian mother-in-law is the best invention ever. She thinks I'm amazing because I actually talk to my kids and manage to put up with her daughter (who is a "failure" because instead of becoming a doctor/lawyer she's a physicist), and will cook for us and babysit on zero notice whenever we ask.

That sucks. For my mom her problem is purely financial, which has been compounded over the last few years as rents have significantly increased since 2016(fucking trump!). Only places that fit her budget are in shitholes but theres no way I could let my mom move out into some shithole 5-10 miles away. Her living with me isnt all bad though, I do get nice home cooked meals a lot and she does the dishes.
Shes 4th on the list for some assisted senior living place nearby. Talking to her the other day she said she will probably go to Florida at the beginning of the year and visit family til a spot opens up for her or at least for 2-3 months.
Not many of those in my area, they all live on the far east side. Also my ex is Asian, so yeah...
Ex was Asian and her mother was the definition of cunt. One of the most vain people I ever met and monumentally controlling of my ex which in turn caused a lot of problems for us. I shudder to imagine how that could have possibly have gone.
