I don't know. I feel like I'm of the same opinion as you, but I don't necessarily think that means I shouldn't have children. I think society pushes the idea on us that we should want to have kids, but there's nothing wrong with letting fate decide that for us.

I'd be perfectly content either having a child or not, it hasn't been some lifelong dream of mine. My wife on the other hand has held that dream forever, so she gets crushed.

I enjoy going raw dog though, so there's that.

I'd actually say that means you are ready to have kids. Let's face it, the majority of men never have a burning desire for children so when you hit the point where it's no longer the worst thing that could happen you are probably ready. It's a weird thing anyway. I know when my kids were little babies it was kind of like I just went through the motions. I mean I was concerned about them constantly, but I never had the warm and fuzzies like my wife did for them. But man, once they get a little older and interact with you and you realize they are a blank slate and they are looking up to you for everything... The feels bro. The feels.

Get clipped. Unless your ego/thrills preclude you from shooting blanks, its one day of slight discomfort to offset a lot of possible hardships. If you don't mind my asking, why is your wife so massively against BC? Mine is on the Nuva Ring and actually enjoys not being batshit every 28 days, pretty much saying that if I got clipped she would still stay on it for that reason alone.

I agree but it's also their loss of they wait that long. Lots of stuff going on even in the early time. From about 5 months on you're building bonds unless you choose to avoid them.

To get kids is still on the table. So getting clipped isn't an option just yet.

As to why she won't take any birth control, one word: Catholic.
