Wife handles it all. I handled it for a couple of years back when she was going to school before we had kids, even handled everything with regards to getting our first house, but at some point I handed it back to her. Up until recently we've been mostly treading water, not living paycheck to paycheck but close. The move to Buffalo set us back a bit but with my new job and some of her salary raises we've reached a point where money isn't as much a worry as it used to be. And yes, we're completely open with each other on money.

I think it's fine if one half of a couple doesn't want anything to do with money, but they should still be aware of how things are going. This way there's no surprises.

She used to handle our money, but she ended up getting really stressed out by it.

I've also been sending $75/week to an alternate account in my name for a rainy day fund type of thing. She knows I have it, but doesn't know I've been secretly saving. It's not a lot of money, but good secret stash if something happens to us or we want to buy something cool.

100% agree. That's the way it is with us. I handle it all but keep her up to date on everything.

You're setting aside $300 a month just to start off with and your wife knows you set it aside for yourself but doesn't know you're saving it.

Exit strategy if I've ever seen one.

No a few years ago I told her I was going to set money aside for us. Shit hit the fan money wise and I stopped, but then I secretly started it back up.

It's not my exit strategy haha.

So I'm sure this has been discussed before but who handles the finances in your households?
I pay all the bills and do all the investments, I decided which house to buy, I buy the cars, etc. She makes a little over $100k and spends virtually nothing.

She looks over the credit card bills and nags over things she thinks are excessive so that I don't really spend that much. Not that I would anyway I'm not into Veblen goods.

Any big purchases like cars we talk about in advance, so both of us make the decision together.

Never had a STI and don't intend to get one.

Also I don't like eating out hooker snatch
I mean, yea I obviously agree with you but these hoes are more like girlfriends to him, that are hookers on the side. He clearly has feelings.

I'd like to think that if I ever wanted a sidepiece I could get one without paying.

if I were going to pay they'd look a lot better than that..

Yeah, but hooker pussy is more flavorful. Oh wait...supertaster. Yeah, maybe you're right.

There's only two rules of budgeting:

1. Live well below your means
2. Don't buy stupid unnecessary shit

I do the necessary finances like pay bills, invest, and so forth. Once a month my wife and I spend about an hour going over where our money is, what we are setting aside, where we are donating to, etc. If I were to kick it today she'd be able to step in and seamlessly take over the finances. I do it, but it's still a team effort.
