I was on bumble for a weekend, it's filled with like 8s and above in Portlandia. None of them are my type though, all blonde cali girl yuppies.

Yes it does seem that way. But I think it's got the bots going on there as well. Also, bumble was just recently released on Android so that's why you may not have heard of it.

The women have to message you first after the match within 24 hours or the match disappears. Get ready to match a lot and have it disappear. Not much different than tinder in that regard.

Well that doesn't sound encouraging. I've had quite a few matches on Tinder and every damn woman has failed to send the first message. (then they were the ones who matched me)

Unless she's an escort, bot, or hog she will never message you first. It's your job to say something witty/catchy in the initial message. Sorry, even in Tinderland women want to be approached. #femaleprivilege

A good 2nd line that always works for me if I don't get a reply a few hours after my initial effort is "This is so us. Me doing all the talking while you sit there looking cute". That usually elicits some form of response.

They want you to approach them because most women are not attracted to passive men. So if the relationship starts off with you ho-humming about messaging a common-match in Tinder she probably imagines you're a giant pussy in real life.

It doesn't from my experience, my short experience had plenty of matches but they would never talk to me. One girl also matched with me on tinder and I messaged her and she was into it and gave me her number in no time. Girls suck at sending the first message.

I also avoid canned lines since any girl with half a brain sees through those in a second.
