Bullshit. Dream life is finding a woman who makes even more money than I do and paying other people to do all the tedious house chores. Fuck being the sole income for a household. That's way more pressure than I need in my life, I want the freedom to switch jobs without the risk of financially ruining my family if it doesn't pan out.
Im with you there brother. If I only knew back then what I know now. I chose the hottie instead of the nerdy school girl (not that they cant be hot as well) And of course im in love with the one I got so whatever.

Agree with you there. It is so much pressure on both of us honestly. I hate that I can't contribute money when we need it and I hate that I don't have the option to right now. Having kids young is great and all, but I really wish I had finished school and got some work experience in so I don't feel like I have to start from absolutely nothing in a few years and can't contribute anything else to my family even if I wanted to.

But on the flipside, my wife did stay at home with the kids and raised them right. I could not bare the thought of strangers raising my kids in day care or whatever.

But then I look at other dudes at work, their wives have careers, pulling down the same bank if not more than they do and im jealous as fuck. I could imagine having a yearly income twice that of what I have right now.

One of my worries is what will happen when my wife gets pregnant in terms of finances. I make good money, but losing her income will be tough and a big blow.

We are sort of in that situation right now... we want to have a second kid before our daughter is 2 in July of 2015, but with my mom and mother in law providing free child care 4 days a week (I work from home on Fridays), we don't want to burden them having to watch two kids at once. So we considered having my wife stay home but unless I find a better paying job, that just won't be possible, and she is in line for a major promotion in the second half of 2015 too which she doesn't necessarily want to miss out on by leaving the work force. We might have to go the daycare route for our older kid... or something. I don't know. I'm hoping to find a much better paying job this year because fuck working for a non-profit.

If your family is up for it then really adding a second kid to the care list isn't really all that much more Eya. I take my sisters 2 year old twins a couple times a week because her sitter isn't available and having the two of them doesn't increase the childcare workload noticeably over just having my son. Sure at moments when they all seem to be having mini meltdowns it can be rough, but that isn't too often.

I think I'm a better stay at home mom then most actual moms! I work a full time job, and take care of kids that aren't even mine. While having my own.

The thing you have to look at is that child care is only really needed for the firs like 6-7 yrs, then after that the kids are more than enough sufficient and going to school that you can both work pretty much full time. You only have to worry about when they are sick and of course being there at home when they come home from school. Or at least someone has to be there. Then when they reach the age of like 13-15 you can start leaving them alone for a few hours, of course depending on how mature they are so they dont set your house on fire or some shit.

We have some friends who have kids, and nieces and nephews, in daycare and those kids are sick every other week. That is the other thing I am not looking forward to if we go that route...

Showed that pic to a few guys at work with stay at home wives. Oh boy Jimmies be Rustled.. They asked that at a minimum all that "income" should be penalized by the following expenses, and that the 90+ hour work week be adjusted to somewhere like 20-30 hours.

1) Professional Pilates Student: @ 250 /month
2) Professional Nordstrom/Neimans shopper: @ $500-$2000/month
3) Professional furniture shopper to replace perfectly fine furniture: @500/month or so
4) Professional Whole Foods Shopper, cause it's too much of a hassle to make that extra trip to Target for cheap toilet paper: @250/ week
5) Professional Facebook user: How does my 90+ hour work week wife find all that time to post shit on Facebook?
6) Professional Tennis student: @ 400/month . Because her friends play..
7) Professional Lunch Gossiper: @ 100/week. Need to meet the girls at Mi Cocina and whine about how useless their husbands are.
8) Professional "our kids need to be in basketball&soccer&badminton" or they won't grow up right
9) My favorite. The Professional "you need to work less to spend more time with the family, but you also need to make more money because we can't afford X"
10) The Professional "I'm always tired and overworked despite the fact I do all of the above and take a nap every afternoon".
Love it! My previous bosses wife (VP of IS at 75 million + revenue company) would bitch and moan that he worked to much, but then would be out spending money all the fucking time. She'd bitch if he had to miss a sports game for emergency maintenance even though he made 90% of them (they have six kids). He doesn't drink, smoke, swear, and is almost always home by 6PM. The true hilarity is now she finally has a job as a physical fitness trainer making $11.00 an hour plus commission on gym sign ups, and she misses 90% of the sports games, and will bitch and moan whenever she has a client meeting and anything gets in the way of it.

It is beyond amazing to me to observe. I don't know how he stays so humble. I would instantly tell her to shut the fuck up.

Here's a best one. She went out and bought a $2000.00 carbon fiber bicycle because she decided she wanted to get into biking (she's a big marathon runner costing him over 15k a year in trips alone). She didn't even ask him if it was ok, just went out and bought the bike. He comes home and he's not even allowed to get upset about it because "Oh, I need it!". Fast forward a few months later. He wants to get another Xbox 360 so the kids can play with him without playing split screen. He talks it over with her and she oks $200.00. It ended up being like $300.00 because he got an extra controller and some other crap. She came back home and he told her and she freaked!!!! Said he was wasting money and was selfish! It's so amazing to watch yet so frustrating.

That was way more everything than I was expecting. I may have to call you out though and suffer the wrath of men here and women everywhere: who wears eyeliner and mascara to do laundry?

Who wears such a low cut shirt and conveniently places said boobs in the picture? The heroine we deserve does.

No eyeliner, but mascara because my eye lashes are blonde and I walk my eldest to school in the morning where I see people.

She'll retire to being a "house wife"...errr CEO. You'll be stuck in mkopec's situation, where you earn the majority of the money, do the majority of the household duties, and just sit around "accepting" it.

It's so amazing to watch yet so frustrating.
It's his fault for putting up with that bullshit. He's getting exactly what he asked for, honestly.

We should really take this discussion to the Parent Thread where it belongs...

Lindz why don't you get us started by posting another selfie over there?

That's what my wife's mother did, and she is one nasty, mean lady. I have a fear it's coming.
