What melee do you think is the best for cosmics? It seems people tend to mention melee Deadpool as being very strong (if not the strongest) for cosmic soloing (as mentioned on a previous post).
I have a very well geared Scarlet Witch, and now Nightcrawler. Both of them can solo Cosmics very easily. Although NC takes a bit more finesse. I put on the Valkyrie runeword on my SW, and she now has unlimited mana as well. It almost feels broken.
My rotation is something like, Ravenous Binding -> Combusting Hex -> Hex Binding -> Chaos Warp. Every single tick from all those dots brings back 2 spirit from the runeword and I finish up with full spirit. Never going below 90% spirit heh.
I have 21 level 60 heros atm, and SW, Storm, and NC do the most damage out of all of them right now.
I have very well geared both Deadpool and Cable. I haven't played Gambit. Deadpool is, hands down, the winner for cosmics. Cable lacks sustain to take a beating in the terminals. Since Deadpool has very nice HP on kill, hp regen and HP active combined with his power-ups healing then combine with God Mode and if you have his uniques you can die again once every 10 minutes. It makes him very difficult to actually kill in the terminals. He doesn't have quite the same DPS as Cable but since you won't spend time running around you'll kill things faster. I still use Cable to clear Green/Red terminals since his DPS allows him to clear faster than DP on bosses.

Shit, was afraid you guys would say that. Cable is at 55 and DP is at like 40. Cheers though.
If it makes you feel better just because you ding 60 doesn't really mean you're ready to solo cosmics. You'll have to slog in xdef for a bit getting at least cosmic gear unless you are very, very patient for not that much reward. Fuck I'd almost say xdef is now better for loot than cosmics anyways.

One last decision... Melee Deadpool or Ms. Marvel (mighty punch/wave hybrid build)? Looks like people consider Ms. Marvel as top tier currently?
Well before I got Nightcrawler I used Deadpool as my favorite meelee character. He can still do fine in cosmic terminals. Nightcrawler does better for me now. I also have Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel at lvl 60. Both are okay, I didnt really like SG that much, and Ms. Marvel is pretty awesome and has alot of viable specs.
Right now Cosmic terminals are not worth the effort. The risk vs. reward is now off big time for them. The devs even admitted that they nerfed the chests, and are looking to make some more changes. X-Def is the best place for loot atm, especially if you're hunting for runes.
As for my 21 level 60 heros... I didn't even put much effort into leveling all of them untill the patch that came with Hero XP synergies. Once that came out, things really snowballed and became faster and faster to level each hero. I have about 170% xp bonus from heros now, + cyclops 10%, and pots can bring you to 350% or so pretty easily.
The other weekend when they had the 200% xp bonus weekend, I got up to 500%, and leveled Ghost Rider from 1 to 60 in 1 day lol.

Where would you rank Ms Marvel? I am trying to decide between her or Deadpool right now in terms of strength, cosmic ability, etc? Both of them I have in the 40s currently.
Geared out, Ms Marvel is a beast. Using a hybrid build, she can solo every cosmic terminal with somewhat ease, and with proper usage of her signature and ultimate ability, she can stand in some power cosmics and faceroll the bosses. Imo, she is close to top tier, if not already in the top tier. One cavaet about her though, she is kind of boring to level up until the 30s and doesn't really come into her own until level 47.
I really loved my Deadpool (untill they gutted his ranged/hybrid spec), but i'd rate Ms. Marvel above him right now. Also I think she has the best ultimate ability in the game currently.

I keep seeing people throw this lingo around on the official forums, as well as here. What constitutes a hero being in the "top tier"? Is it just their potential DPS, their ability to solo cosmics, their bonuses to group play, diversity of builds, or what? A combination of all of the above? Furthermore, which heroes are considered "top tier"?
What constitutes a top tier hero for me anyway, is a combination of DPS / Survivability / Utility / Fun Factor. Like when I play SW in X-Def I bring huge utility and really decent DPS. Her Chaos Warp ability gives the entire group 50% damage negation and it does a shit load of damage in an aoe, bewildering hex can be cast on boss packs in the later waves (16+) to keep them from attacking the party making them easier to kill etc, and shes fun to play. NC Brings VERY good dps, and some utility with flash and grab... Ms. Marvel is very tanky and fun, and can also do good dps etc etc.
I've been playing in lvl 60 X-Defense all week, and the heros I see on the most consistent basis are, Iron-Man, Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Nightcrawler, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Jean Grey, Storm, and Deadpool. The rest of the roster I see once in awhile.

I just picked up Captain America. Really fun so far. Flinging the shield all over is a fun way to clear trash, and he seems to do just fine on elites/bosses also.
To me, like mossybank, top tier is a combination of everything. Take Ms Marvel, she has a good kill speed, good survivability,can contribute to groups in a meaningful manner, and overall her skills works well together. She gives a nice attack speed/movement speed buff to allies whenever she uses a movement power, and can be kept up indefinitely, and her ultimate gives a very nice group buff as well.
He's slower than balls and dies quicker than a ranged glass cannon is cosmics. He is terrible. I'd almost argue he got worse after his 52. They increased his DPS some but plummeted his survivability -- which was never even good to start.
Eh, I'm not going to be to cosmics for a bit yet. I'll worry about that when I get there. For now he's fun.
