Lol you can't blame that unabashed money grab on the actors. That was 100 percent studio greed and so many people wanting more LoTR. At least it ranks with the prequel trilogy. I'll give them an A for effort. Much better than any Disney or Amazon crapfest.

Supposedly she accepted the role on the condition that there wouldn't be some cringe inducing romance/love-triangle and then it was added in reshoots that she couldn't get out of. Could be a self-serving lie but I've never heard anyone associated with the movies call her a liar or say anything that contradicts what she claimed.

Wouldn't surprise me that some suit pushed for that plot point to meet some metric they thought would get more "premium women" demographic, after they did test screenings.
I mostly blame the mediocrity of the movies on the Warner C-suits for pushing it to be three movies and Jackson agreeing to try to stretch it to three movies.

Marvel's "Brave New World" set to shatter film budget records
"Brave New World" was supposed to hit theatres in July 2024. However, that will not happen. Work on the new Marvel production was completed in June last year. The film was shown to a selected group of viewers, and studio heads quickly realised they were in for a disaster. According to "World of Reel," Marvel was panicked. The film had to be revised. Matthew Orton added new scenes. We're talking about three large sequences and even a few new characters added to the script. Experts believe this is a recipe for an epic disaster.According to media reports, the initial budget for "Captain America: Brave New World" was £215 million. This would put it fifth place among the most expensive films in history. However, as "World of Reel" reports, the reshoots will hit Marvel hard. They say Disney and Marvel will spend between £59 and £78 million on the reshoots. "It's like filming an entirely new movie," quotes a source. Thus, if these reports are confirmed, "Brave New World" will jump to the first place among the most expensive films in our history. In second place is also a Marvel production - "Avengers: Infinity War," which cost £247 million.
"Brave New World" is now scheduled to premiere in February 2025. Will this happen?

Started watching Avengers Infinity War in the background while working on something and ended up stopping what I was doing to watch it again. How the fuck did the studio who put together the Infinity Saga turn to churning out such utter garbage in such a short period of time? I mean it's not liked it started slipping into the pit of shit tier movies. Disney jumped into that pit head first.
