And after giving it some thought I'll concede that there's a possibility he's not juicing. The big difference between 300 and the XMen movies is that in 300 they were walking around in underwear the entire movie, whereas the XMen movies typically have one big 'look how ripped Wolverine is' scene per movie. So Jackman doesn't have to spend the entire duration of the filming looking like a Spartan, he just has to get reasonably cut and then they use water weight shenanigans + editing to make him look like he has 0% body fat.

It was both. They did the tan line shit then in large group shots they CGI'd a shit ton of dark lines for 'definition'.

Yeah I suspect anyone who had a lot of camera time outside of the group couldn't cheat nearly as much on their physique, so Leonidas, Stelios, Dilios, and the Captain whose name I don't think they ever mentioned. Also Theron, but I don't remember him looking quite as ripped as the rest.
And I guess Fassbender is used to crazy shit to get roles, he tortured his body pretty badly for Hunger and that was only 2 years after 300.

Jesus. I mean I'm not surprised by it, half the movies he's just got pants on with no shirt so it completely works. Not that he doesn't have a little definition in his legs either, just all the bulk is up top.

Isn't he a pretty tall dude? He's very well proportioned for his body type. Plenty of quad bulk, and his calves certainly aren't chicken-leg looking.

It's funny to see the behind the scenes shots with the 300 guys where its apparent how painted their muscles are, especially their abs.
It's not a slight on 300 though. They had to go for a very exaggerated look.
As for Jackman being on steroids, who cares. I'm sure he follows a regiment that is very close to what was in that article and just happens to take roids on the side. It's not like steroids just turn you from a desk jockey like me into a mutant. A big part of them is helping you recover from extremely difficult workouts more quickly.
When this is your inspiration, you need all the help you can get:
