Best part about that rant is Kelly McGillis representing heterosexuality when she is in fact a lesbian.Wouldn't Gambit be the first one to come out, or did that already happen?
Maybe they're getting their Iceman's confused and thinking ofTarantino's Top Gun explanation?
Gah, I wonder if kids today realize how terrible comics are becoming if that's the new standard?
Honestly this is what I took from that panel. That being gay is a choice. Terrible. You guys are taking the Iceman thing totally the wrong way. Clearly it's saying that being gay is a choice and not just how you are born. Old Bobby = Straight. Young raised different Bobby = Gay. It's not SJW shit, it's straight up conservative Christian thinking. BMB = Rush Limbaugh.
He was so much younger than the rest of the team there wasn't any point to give him a steady squeeze. I think he had a thing for Lorna / Polaris. Had some good in frame chemistry with a lot of women that he never hooked up with. That's dumb. Iceman bangs Mystique later in life.
Technically he did:How do you recover from being Asian?
Even Agent Smith can't do it.
He was conceived as gay from the start, but you know, good ol comics code prevented them from stating it outright. He was a French Canadian named Jean-Paul that wore matching outfits with his sister. We all knew he was gay from the get-go.
Later on Northstar was one of my favorite "professor" xmen. He'd even have a few scenes of being a complete badass on occasion while still having a limp wrist joke. That's the thing... When you change a character for a publicity stunt, no one is going to be happy. It alienates the purists AND it alienates the people you are pandering to. No person in the lgbt community is reading that comic and cheering.
When northstar was created, being gay was just part of his character. It wasn't done to prove a point. He was a character who happened to be gay, which no one really cared about. Instead of bobby , colossus. Or green lantern being gay in order to spark controversy
