Tom hardy wants to play the Punisher, make that happen Marvel!
Although I still think Ray Stevenson made a good Punisher he was just in a shitty movie.
Thomas Jane I never cared for, he was too pretty boy, and didn't have the Bulk of the Punisher I liked in the comics.

Of all the ways I might describe Thomas Jane, pretty boy is not something that would ever make the list. I mean obviously he isn't borderline ugly but Stevenson, but he's hardly a pretty boy. I thought him and Stevenson both did good jobs and were both just stuck with bad scripts and bad villains.
Well pretty boy like Hugh Jackman is accused of.
I just prefer a big tank for the Punisher versus the skinnier one they have in the comics sometimes.

I haven't read any of the 616 Punisher comics but I absolutely loved the Punisher Max series.
I do agree he would make much more sense as a side character because his origin has been done to death already.

Hardy ad punisher might be good. I am a stephens fan but that movie and script were crap. The short Jane did was awesome. if either movie had been like that it would have been amazing. Maybe have him as a side character with scenes like that. Or put him in daredevil. They had some good brawls in the comics.

I like the idea of adding him to Daredevil. He'd fit right in with the gritty atmosphere they're going for with that show.

He's too dark of a hero for mass market. He works great in a niche market like MAX, but if you're going to do a movie or show with him you have to tone him down a ton to make him more morally appealing. As a side character, on the other hand, you can make him a murderer. You can make the hero with with him out of necessity. He's the lesser of two evils. His rogues gallery is pretty generic because he kills his enemies for one, and because he's just as much a villian as they are in the eyes of people like cap.

Could do a Netflix Phase 2? Daredevil season 2, Punisher, and Moon Knight and then a Marvel Knights movie? Cameos/appearances by Ghost Rider, Elektra, Blade, etc, with any done particularly well getting their own 10-13 episodes in phase 3? Moon Knight could be a lot of fun, his last series was great.

They'd have to use Punisher like they did in Civil War. Captain hate having him around, then kicking his ass when he shoots someone in the head while Cap calling him insane and Castle refusing to fight back. Was really good framing too.
I could definitely see the Evan's Captain putting some serious hate on Punisher. Take it a step farther and make Captain America the villain of the Punisher movie with a rated R.
