So the plane crashed with no power and...no damage was done? Sure.

So this guy is a killer with the ability to go back and forth between worlds at will and the solution is to...let him go? Sure.

This episode was awful. I'm still going to watch but I'm not really sure why. I'm not sure what purpose Skye's character serves. Just give her a fucking super power or something, because hacker chick is pretty fucking stupid. This show needs a Jayne, what is Adam Baldwin doing these days anyways?

Skye is the "everyman" in the show and serves the same role as, say, a companion in Doctor Who: All the shit going down is old hat to the Doctor, but the companions allow for some exposition to occur because all of this is new to them.

They need to start bringing in actual heroes soon. It almost feels like I am watching a show about a group of people roleplaying in a world of super heroes, as opposed to actually being in a world of super heroes.
That's kinda what the show is about ... how regular humans that work for SHIELD deal with problems in a world of mutants. Besides, this is TV and the CG budget for an unproven show would never allow for 1st stringers like Iron Man, Thor, or Hulk to appear on every episode. Notice the4 new Marvel TV shows that just got announced:

"Marvel has announced that Netflix will air four new live-action Marvel superhero TV shows, based on Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Daredevil, along with a miniseries event based on the Defenders."
Mostly 3rd-string heroes with limited powers, and thus easily limited special effects budgets. Though it will be interesting to see what heroes they decide to include forThe Defenders. With Silver Surfer, Namor, Hulk, and Dr. Strange potentially appearing some absurdly powerful enemies will be required. Probably why it will be miniseries only.

Also, picking the weaker-powered heroes makes for way more story options. To pose any threat to The Hulk, you would would basically need something that can blow up entire cities every episode. That would get old fast so save that stuff for the big-budget movies.

Someone mentioned on that IO9 thread for the Iron Fist TV show they need to use Motorhead for the theme song. Would be pretty badass.

I am not saying lets have super heroes every episode, but at least have a super hero show up once in a while.

This last episode made me cry at its stupidity.

" Did we crash?" Really? REALLY????

You would fucking know a plane went down. Not one, but two people in this episode were not sure if the plane had crashed. The ironic part is that it was the two people who were not strapped in at all. These people would have been lucky to have walked away from the crash with a few bruises and scrapes, but instead it is if they were not even on the plane. I know the plane is advanced and all, but I am pretty sure that gravitational stabilizers similar to what the Enterprise uses on Star Trek are not part of that plane's capabilities. Even if they were, they lost power which would have negated the system and they still would have been rolling all around the rooms.

Wait, that's it. That is what the team's super powers are. They are able to defy simple laws of gravity and physics to avoid damage. Mere mortals would have potentially died in a crash landing of that magnitude, but not this team. Also, they are able to extend their powers over inanimate objects like very large and heavy air planes that would normally have lost both wings and broken out a good portion of the glass when coming down at a speed of around 100 Miles per hour. I wish though that they would say something as part of the script so that we would know this. Maybe they are waiting to use this information as part of a cliff hanger.

This last episode easily goes down as the worst one yet. I will not even bother with how stupid the ending was and the way they dealt with an actual villain.

The redeeming portion of this episode was the preview for the next episode. FINALLY maybe somebody with unusual abilities like super strength will join the team?? Maybe...???

why can a show like Arrow introduce comic book characters/heroes almost every week while this show has a vanilla team interacting with vanilla issues? Arrow has like hardly any budget while this show dwarfs it and yet sucks in comparison in every way imaginable? im starting to think that marvel/disney is not behind this show.

That's probably a bad thing considering how shit the episode was...
Wasn't last episode the one with references to Thor and such? Seemed to indicate that the show was going to start dealing with more superhero themes. More people probably tuned in to this episode due to that, thinking it would get better, and probably more people watched it due to word of mouth that last week it escalated, and this episode might be good.

This was certainly not the right episode to air now. The episode felt very slow paced, and they didn't gain cool powers as much as demystify "The Cavalry" making her very human, including the affair with gi generic. Exploding particle accelerators seems to be a very popular thing though. Isn't Arrow doing that soon too? SHIELD beat them to the punch!

I understand Iron man flying around might be a bit much but how hard is it to have thor walking around smacking people with his hammer or capt america punching people in the face. Hell you could even have Iron man mostly without the suit helping them with tech/science stuff then throw in a small amount of cgi for a fight scene at the end. Same with Hulk. Bruce helping them with some sort of gamma radiation problem with a short hulk smash at the end. Oh ya. Then there are the two human bad asses hawkeye and widow. Seems like they could get them all to give them a good deal because it will help their brand for future movies etc.

i'm pretty sure no established avengers char (anyone from the movie) will guest star on the show, at best they'll do a 10second nick fury end. man, i've been trying really hard to be a supporter of this show, i really am, but my blind faith in whedon is at it's limit.

i did not have a problem with MM hooking up with agent jock, it was an eps about MM anyway and it's a lead in from the previous eps, so at least we have continuity. the girls in my tv group did have a problem however... either they like agent jock or whatever. At first they were fine, then i said "that's weird, guess agent jock likes MILFS", and i had to tell em she's 50 and they were like in disgust. (girl voice) "ughh". Heck for all we know she could be portraying an agent as the same age as agent jock... otherwise we'd be getting storylines like "shouldn't you retire or want a family? you're at that age"

why do i not like skyae? aside from her just being something idiot nerds are supposed to lust over... why was she being so annoying with MM, she was pretty much acting like a bitch or referenced her in a negative way. I can only think that she had "woman's intuition" and knows that MM to agent jock to bed and she's jealous.

i thought about it more, when Coulson had that stupid talk with her at the end something like "i want you to know and experience it so you can take over and make it better", maybe skyae's mutant power is to see "hidden" things, and hidden thing was MM and agent jock's relationship...

but then this only hinges on the fact that her entire character is implausible and needs to some kind of reality anchor, that she isn't a cute, well dressed, well kept, van living hacker that can single handedly take down the worlds most secure organization, and the only reason she can do this is she has a mutant power (or whatever something).

this show is also hindered that there are 2 shows i watch that outclass AOS in every way, the blacklist (especially this weeks eps) and almost human

skye was a bitch the entire episode and her purpose was so contrived this week that it made her uselessness even more apparent.

She's obviously a super hot van living hacker psychologist. In a few weeks I'm sure we'll find out she used to be a race car driver or something else equally awesome and plausible.

and they need to remove that no computer bracelet already. its fucking pointless to have her walking around with a computer in that hand and talking about using a computer while wearing it.

I think there is a meta joke in there about people on the internet and who they claim to be ;p

Bracelet isn't there to stop her using computers though. They explained that all it does is record everything you do on a computer so they can be sure they know what she is doing. So her and her (ex?) boyfriend hacker have their "digital keystrokes" (I think that was the line they used) monitored, but there is nothing stopping them from using a computer.

I'm losing interest in this show, which is sad since this show should appeal to me.

The problem if you compare it to Arrow is it seems Marvel is too afraid to do anything with the show that could remotely come in conflict with their Marvel Movie Universe since they both exist within the same continuity.

They seems to have big plans for TV too...it feels like they don't want to do anything with Agent of Shield that could come in conflict with anything they might want to do in the future.

DC doesn't seem to have the same issues with Arrow...where aside from the big guys like Superman and Batman, they seem to have pretty much free reign to do whatever they want.
