Just saw Captain America The Winter Soldier. Awesome movie. Huge impact on SHIELD.

Do not read till you see it or want to spoil it for yourself.

Hydra is SHIELD, or at least 1/2 of SHIELD. Ever since it was created. Once the movie ends there is no more SHIELD, or at least the movie leaves it to seem that way. Nick Fury lets himself be considered dead and buried and goes off grid completely. Cap and Falcon pursue Bucky. Widow does her own thing. Maria Hill goes to work in HR of some company. Agent 13 joins the CIA. So yea all the high level SHIELD agents are gone. All the Helicarriers and their main headquarters are destroyed. Will be interesting to see if these agents of SHIELD are that is left after the movie.

Agents of Shield shouldn't be affected too much by the events in The Winter Soldier...

They're already pretty much a self-contained team. They have their plane to use as a headquarters. They have their own geek squad to do all the science/medical stuff, and they have Coulson to call the shots. They'll probably have another Nick Fury cameo so Coulson gets the whole story, and he'll be like "until further notice, you're on your own."

With Maria Hill working at Stark Industries and Agent 13 at the C.I.A, Coulson's team should have all the intel and support they need.

Right. Even without SHIELD, I'm sure Stark Industries would be able to provide logistical support/supplies, Agent 13 could help provide mission intel, etc.

They will probably do this until they form SWORD as a successor to SHIELD

Decent episode this week and they are now tying directly into Winter Soldier They even capped off the episode with a scene from the movie of Nick Fury on the run.

Great episode tonight. Awesome use of the Captain America The Winter Soldier clip to end the show. Having seen the movie (and most of us will before next week's episode) it is easy to see how they used the movie to tie in to their story.

That said.

Knowing Hydra is part of SHIELD and Jasper Sitwell is a Hydra agent. I am wonder if they are going to scape goat him as the Clairvoyant or use Victoria Hand. We now know it is someone in SHIELD/Hydra so now it is all about finding out who and rebuilding SHIELD after the wake of Captain America and this SHIELD civil war. From next week's clip it seems clear that all of AoS team are SHIELD as is Bill Paxton's Garett. Will be fun to see what they have in store over the next few episodes.

That was the preview clip for next week. Captain America The Winter Soldier takes place between this weeks episode and next week. What happens in Cap continues next week. If you have not seen Cap yet anything I spoiler will be telling you what happened in it until Monday. After Monday I will hope all have seen it.

So as far as continuity is concerned it goes Episode 16 (April 1) Cap (April 4) Episode 17 (April 8). Because a lot happens with/too SHIELD in Cap.

In the torrents I downloaded it just straight cut out after Hand said that Coulson is hers at the end. Was there shit after that?
Yes. It was a scene from The Winter Soldier, but it was cut like it was part of the episode. Makes me think that sequence was supposed to be taking place at the same time as the episode.

What you missed...
Nick Fury is being chased through Washington D.C. by cop cars. His SUV is all shot up and the cops (who aren't cops) are trying to take him out. He's able to lose them at an intersection but when he thinks he's safe The Winter Soldier fires a magnetic mine under his SUV which explodes and flips it. The scene ends with Fury staring at the Winter Soldier.

The way they weaved that into the episode was great.

Ya, especially since during the episode May mentions that Fury is back and he will meet with Coulson to answer his questions. Given May's shocked reaction at the end to Coulson's accusations, I think it all but confirms that she is working for Fury directly.

To the people complaining about the Deathlock design it is not as it seems.

On Victoria Hand

I do not believe she is part of Hydra, I do believe she will help create H.A.M.M.E.R. a fictional espionage and law enforcement agency in the Marvel Comics Universe . The organization is formed in Secret Invasion #8 to replace S.H.I.E.L.D.

Also, this episode was by far the best episode this season. Everything was much better from the direction, lighting, cinematography, script etc.
Hopefully this is good starting point for things to come.

It just proves that they will rough up the character over the course of the show till we have the version that is currently in the comics.

The spoiler time is up, but I'm still going to use Spoiler tags because this leads into information for the winter soldier

It's pretty obvious now that May is working for Fury given that we know that the Clairvoyant isn't a person, but Shield's file system.
It also makes sense why she would die to keep that information secret from the world, and makes me think Fury knows that Shield was compromised way before he was attacked.

We also know that Hydra has been experimenting on humans by the teaser at the end of Cap 2...codename miracles.
With the knowledge that Hydra/Shield have access to many artifacts such as a Tesseract/Loki's staff, they may be mixing captured Kree DNA to produce these miracles.
Which brings us to Skye...., and the message Hydra delivers to coulson that they will take her back to extract her gift.

The whole Ward shooting the decoy was a little too convenient, so I'm not sure if I fully trust him yet although it would make sense that he is irrational given he still has the Berserker's staff magic running through his body.

Clairvoyant is Ultron. well shit. Sadly, again. they won't introduce him here would they.. and over a year for that movie. Could they string it along for that long? Hydra/shield infiltration leads to Spiderwoman/Jessica Drew in comics. And lots of brainwashing. so anyone could be a Hydra agent. Ward could easily be a Hydra agent, and not even know it.
