If Maria Hill is interviewing for a new job within a week instead of helping round up rogue Hydra agents and ensure the safety of whatever SHIELD members she can, that's pretty surprising to me.

I don't think she is tho, because the end of winter Soldier Nick tells Cap, and Falcon his mission is to stop all the remaining Hydra agents. This comes way after Maria is shown at Stark.
Then Cap ,and Falcon go off to hunt down Bucky.

Yeah, I wouldn't think too much about it. I'm sure the Continuity is all out of wack with the TV show.

The scenes at the end of Winter Soldier are flash forwards. We have to remember that there are people out there who watch the movies but not the TV show. Those scenes are setting up Avengers 2.

Well everything is setting up Avengers 2 so that's not really relevant.


And we don't know the timeline of those scenes we can only guess, but judging by the last scene which is Cap, and Falcon at Nicks grave it probly happened pretty quickly.
Cap would want to go after Bucky again, and Nick is going to stop the remaining Hydra.

All we got to go on the Show is the explanation that Cap took down the carriers. So we know we are past that part at least, and that the US government is taking over any Shield installations.

Patton Oswalt kinda got done like a bitch though... I was figuring that with the super lie detector that he was very much aware of Ward and was doing something extra sneaky to keep him under control... nope! Now next week it looks like they lose their brand new secret base too.

If they do renew this for a second season I'm not entirely sure what they will do.

I do like the theory I just read that there will be multiple safehouses each with a Patton Oswalt waiting for them. Would be kinda kooky and a way to introduce the Life Model Decoy

Anyone else get the vibe from Ward constantly talking about "following orders, no matter what" that maybe he is a double double agent and actually working with Fury who told him to do what ever Hydra wanted, no matter what?

Ward is not a double agent. Why the fuck do people keep saying that? He has straight up murdered a ton of Shield agents, including 2 high ranking ones.

Ward's pretty much over. They either have to make him full out evil , or he sacrifices himself for the team in some kind of redemption thing.

I'm hoping they keep him Hydra, but I have a feeling they will go the redemption route.


The LMD theory is interesting, but not sure we will see that this season if at all. I believe there is only 3 episodes left.

I'm thinking that they won't kill him off by the end of the season. I'm thinking they get Garrett, but Ward disappears. Next season, he'll be the antagonist. Or maybe he'll be some neutral character that they reluctantly accept the help of when they're in a bind, but get mad at again for being Hydra once they're out of hot water.

My guess is Ward will not be there for season 2 if there is one. He's definitely evil, like people mentioned he murdered a lot of people and they made sure to show us that they were cold blooded murder, not self-defense or anything. They also made it quite clear that he really has feeling for Skye. He's essentially been replaced on the team by Triplett, another specialist. In this episode they made Coulson specifically mention it, they had him say he'll be whatever they need him to be, and showed him to be a descendant of a Howling Commando...pretty much cementing his legitimacy as a character.

So final will have hydra about to win, and for that to happen somehow they'll need to kill Skye, and Ward will die sacrificing himself to save her...somewhat redeeming himself, but without having to deal with reintegrating him on the team which I think is impossible at this point. The actor probably doesn't want to continue, or response to him has been poor...whatever my guess is that he's gone next season.

The actor seemed shocked when they told him he was Hydra, so I don't think he wanted out. That having been said Triplett is a much better character and so makes for a ready Ward replacement.

pretty sure i read somewhere ward(the actor) was put in a meeting and he thought he was gonna be canned(killed) and they said, "yea, you're hydra, don't tell anyone". the only ppl who want ward to be a triple agent are the girls who like him, pretty sure (even tho we think he has no creative input) joss made sure there was no "out" for ward by writing in that he killed hand cold-blooded, and popped extra shots to make sure.
