Possibly the best bet would just go to reddit's streetwear sub. Though you'll get a ton of Supreme, APC and Kanye stuff there.
hmm....

Don't pay $1000 for an off the rack suit. Get something made to measure at that price point so it actually fits.

Look athttp://www.altonlane.com/or Black Lapel or Mytailor.com.
Thanks for the links. Think I am going to try one out, probably black lapel. Found out I don't have enough time to get it though before wedding, so just went to Jos A Banks just to get me past this wedding. I wish I lived near a major metropolis everything is sized for way too big Americans where I live. Even the slim fit shirts are too loose on the sides.

I really do think it's time for the tie to go away.

You're in PA just go to the NY offices of one of the suit makers and get the to measure you in person and your first made to measure suit should fit perfect. If you do the measure-yourself thing or with a helper, expect that you will have to send your first suit back for a remake.

Ties are annoying but a full suit and tie looks better than no tie.

And ya, a few suit and pricing rules.

If you are at the $750 range, then super 100s fabric and custom.
$1000 range, super 120s fabric and custom
>$1000 range, super 130s and custom
Above that, no idea, you gotta be a baller to justify spending above $2,000.

Off the rack is really only worth it at the $500 and under range, unless you find a great deal like super 120s and a great fit that can tailored into a perfect fit in the $750 range.

Cad,

Do you think Alton lane is superior to Q Clothier? It is time for me to rebuild/replace my suit wardrobe.

I don't really know, I have a couple of Alton Lane suits but none from Q. The main thing thats cool about Alton Lane is that the sizing should theoretically be right on since they use the body scanner to get your measurements.

About the Super 100's/whatever, I wouldn't go strictly by those numbers to indicate quality; while a higher number indicates a finer weave of wool, that doesn't necessarily mean it's better. The higher the number generally the finer and lighter the fabric is, which is fine, but doesn't always mean its better or will look/feel nicer.

Looking for a suit got me a on a kick of dressing better and it's kind of nuts the amount of attention it garners. So if you are single and not a tubby get some nice clothes and reel them in. Apparently women like well dressed men who woulda thunk. Now my wife says no more dressing up :/

If you wear a suit to a bar and it doesn't call for it as dress code you look like someone who is trying way too hard

So my black slacks bit the ghost in the zipper, and since the belt loops were already wearing down, and the pockets had already been sewn to fix a rip I figured it was about time to just get a new pair. Went to Men's Warehouse, because I'm a bad ass like that, and they had buy 1 , get 1 free on their slacks.

Picked up charcoal grey and navy blue slacks. I'm pleased, and I hope they last the 5+ years my last ones did.

Issue now is I don't have the brown shoes to go with the navy slacks. The hunt for a new pair of shoes is on!

There were a pair of cap toe slip ons by Kenneth Cole that Men's Wearhouse was selling for $160. I didn't get them, but I tried them on, and damn did they feel good. Much better than the black shoes I did get. I almost felt there was no "breaking in" necessary for the few seconds I wore them.

But someone in here had said Kenneth Cole went cheap? So at $160 I thought it wasn't worth it.
