Better than one of the most overrated players in MLB history? That's a low bar to get over. Even if I skipped active players (Judge) I wouldn't place Jeter in the top 5 best Yankees.

Top 5 Yankees all played over 70 years ago, with the possible exception of Mariano Rivera.

Judge's lack of postseason production is starting to hurt his legacy, I would think.

.196/.303/.430/.733 in 214 at bats

That's thoroughly awful and there's no way he will be considered a top five Yankee if that's how he ends his career.

And take this year, you can't even put any of it on his surrounding players because Soto and Stanton have been very good in the postseason.

That's a good point and probably a big part of Jeter's hype. 7 world series appearances, 5 wins, and I'd say he played significantly better in the postseason than he did during the regular season. In fact if he played at his postseason level all year round I probably wouldn't be calling him overhyped.

It's hard to describe his fielding ability. He was mediocre relative to other shortstops but shortstop is the most demanding fielding position so he was still one of the best fielders in the game. Pretty sure A.Rod was a better shortstop (and hitter) when the Yankees traded for him but they moved him to third out of respect for Jeter's seniority (I assume). Wonder if that kind of decision making contributed to the Yankees going from 6 WS appearances in 8 years to 2 WS appearances in 20 years.

My prediction: they don’t need to do it to win, but if the Dodgers score 2 or more runs in the first, this game is over

Took kids for a quick walk, wife was all, who cares if you miss the first inning.

Lol, just came in watching Freddie hit home plate.

I think your wife hasn't been paying attention if she thinks the Dodgers aren't going to do anything in the 1st inning!

Wow that Yankee fan was pretty shitty. Trying to pry the ball out of Mookie's hand. Basura behavior. Looked like he kept his wrist at a weird angle too.

The one guy ripping open the glove will get ejected for sure. Other grabbing his hand probably as well.

Imagine spending hundreds of dollars on a WS ticket, only to get booted during the 1st inning.
