Just watched the event, pretty weak. But I loved Buentello finishing it with straight down body shots on that douche McSweeney.

I was watching something in the last week where a guy did that multiple times, and I can't remember who it was now. But man that's effective. A guy like Bones with those long arms really needs to add that to his repertoire.

Jones seems like too cautious of a fighter to do that. Anytime you're standing above an opponent like that you risk getting hit from an upkick.

No more dangerous than going in for the head shot, which ends up with you in their guard and much fewer offensive options. If you are controlling their feet it seems like about the safest way to do some actual damage.

Quite a a bit more dangerous than a head shot imo. Half committing to anything in MMA is bad, which is what you are doing throwing a body shot with your hands standing is doing.

If you clip someone on the jaw its hard to react with any offence. People taking the kind of body shots that can land from standing have a lot of there offence still active.

Might work in low tier MMA but not in the UFC.

Thats when this kind of shit happens.

A while back I said I was gonna do the next event totally based onhttp://cagerank.com/picks, then I forgot. So I decided to do it this time. Man...it did NOT go the way I would have picked. Remains to be seen if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
