If I was Mir I'd come out just throwing straight kicks at the chin over and over and over. Once Browne started that gameplan Overeem went retarded. And Browne didn't even have to survive the first round, he had to survive the first 2:30 of the first round.

Of course the far more likely outcome is a replay of Barnett/Carwin fence n' smash, obviously. Overeem is great at getting his guy to the cage and using his size to set up strikes. I'm just saying Mir is 260lbs and he can throw a decent punch sometimes, so he has a chance=P It's 2 guys with relatively weak chins, but one of them is a significantly better striker than the other. Would be silly to go the other way, but it's equally silly to pretend that Mir(or any HW with decent power) is totally out of it before it starts.

On the subject of Overeem: Remember when he was "unstoppable" and I just kept pointing out that his amazing run included zero impressive MMA wins? Then the UFC hand fed him two straight guys that were totally willing to stand in front of him and swing, and he got KTFO both times. After a guy who had no idea how to strike and went all Bob Sapp when he got hit.

Basically, I am incapable of having any real confidence in Overeem any more. He's too fucking stupid to use his advantages safely. I expect him to see Mir over there and decide it's time to go back to using his surprisingly good grappling instead of striking. Because Overeem is dumb as fuck.

Watching TUF now since it interfered with more important DVR stuff.

So they've decided we should see the fighters with their families and shit instead of them fighting and training. Yeah, this is what I was hoping for when they made a publicity stunt of having 2 vaginas "coach". By all means, let's not repeat what made last season amazing.

I might be crazy, rose-tinted glasses etc, but I don't recall every fighter having a 5 minute intro and having their family there with them and shit. And then going to mostly all "fight replay" shit because there were no finishes.

Thought it was the 30-60 second fighter head intro thing with the black background, then a full fight.

Now, to be fair, it seems like a lot of the fights were shitass. And they have to fill time with *something*.

You're just repressing the memory of the first episode because of how great the season turned out to be. This season's premier used the same exact format as last season's. I remember because my Tapoutbro Crew that I watch TUF with all asked "wtf is this shit?" during last season's premier. From the surprise family visits in the hotel to the shortened fights/fight replays...the same format.

I still don't have any hope that this season could live up to last season though. It was just too good, from the coaches to the fighters and the fights all the way through to the finale.

BJ dropping down is a good thing. If he's going to fight, he needs to be either at 155 or 145. I do agree that he needs to retire, though.

Penn coaching vs. Edgar on TUF? Sounds good to me.

I think he'll look great and start a run at Aldo. I still have faith that he can fight, just not when he's fighting faggot-ass Canadians who are half a foot taller and walk around 35lbs heavier than he is.
