Eddie Alvarez was released unconditionally by Bellator today. Expect a UFC signing and fight announcement coming up in the next day or so. Though I guess not against Cerrone like the rumors were a week or two ago since he's scheduled to fight Bobby Green now.

Well he is on a 4 fight win streak, so I am sure he is getting right back in the title talks. I would imagine if he wins this next fight he will be pretty close. You have to remember though the LW belt has been on the shelf for a while as Pettis has been healing from an injury as well as filming TUF. So he may very well be next in line, but he may not want to sit idle and wait for his shot. He is a guy that likes to keep busy.

About 8 years ago, I bought an HD TV and it still picked up HDnet over the antenna. They had this shitty MMA reality show where the Tapout guys, Mask and Skyskrape would travel around the country in a bus and pick up fighters and drive them small venue cage fights. I still remember Donald Cerrone being on an episode before anyone knew who he was, even before his WEC days. I have always remembered that and been a big fan.

LW title picture is totally fucked up. Gil gets his title shot after TUF, in theory. Then you have a total traffic jam. Bendo, Khabib, Cerrone are all pretty even as far as next in line goes. They need to start fighting each other. Plus Alvarez is coming in and TJ Grant is actually supposed to fight again coming up. You remember TJ Grant, guy that earned a title shot and then got concussed and was out for the last two years or so? Yeah, heshouldn'thave to do too much before getting a shot again.
And of course all of this is complicated by the fact that Pettis fights are rare and mythical creatures like a unicorn.
