So instead of commenting about what a terrible stop that was, I'll instead say that it's bullshit that Bendo has had to go through so many fights without getting to fight for the title, when Barao gets an immediate rematch after getting curbstomped by Dillashaw. In a couple days it will have been a year without Pettis defending the belt.

It wasn't really a bad stop, but okay. Benson got Khabilov in a RNC, cool, but other than that he's boring as fuck. His last 9 wins before that were all decisions, a third of which were split. When he lost to Pettis it was in the first round. If you think those credentials are enough to get him a quick rematch but that Barao's domination throughout 30 fights wasn't, well, you might be retarded.

Barao got beaten like a rented mule. However he was essentially unbeatable before that, beating perennial notchamp Faber twice and I am sure he would smash Cruz too. That said it's bantamweight and it is shallow as fuck. The only other guy deserving a shot was Rafael assuncao, who beat TJ by split but has zero name recognition and is not an exciting finisher like Barao. So what I'm saying is.... This is probably the best they could do. It could be worse, MM vs Cariaso is fucking laughably bad in comparison.

Shinya Aoki could probably crack a coconut with his bare hands. No one reliably crushes peoples heads like him. He doesn't even need to slip in the RNC, just get an arm around their face.

Barao out. With 1 day notice on an already insanely fucked PPV card. Solution? Stick in a brand new guy who is willing to fight on 1 day's notice in his UFC debut. Controversial part? IT'S STILL A TITLE FIGHT!
Now, I want to hate this. Joe Soto is fucking nobody. He was a decent high end Bellator fighter a few years ago, he obviously didn't earn a UFC title fight. But I really kind of love the idea of a nobody having a chance to win the biggest belt in the land. And Sotoisa finisher....he's got a remote chance. Especially on short notice.
SECOND PART!
The UFC signed Henry Cejudo based on his name. He's charismatic and he won Olympic gold in wrestling. He also showed in his first fights a knack for GnP finishes with the kind of nasty punches you don't usually see at 125lbs.
He's also missed weight like 5 or 6 times, and had to fight at a catch weight the last two times he DID step in the cage. And after pulling out of this fight he's now pulled out of 4 fights in the last year.
Can someonepleasetalk this asshole in to fighting at 135?
edit: Just saw Dana has said Cejudo needs to fight at 135, and Barao will not get a title shot on return.

First PPV in a while that I flat out skipped(watched prelims) and decided to just check the gifs and now I'm pretty upset I did that. Looks like a bunch of entertaining fights.

Girlfight, featuring what this makes look like a pretty weak stoppage, but it sounds like she was just giving up at that point. And here's the winner doing a littlecelebratory shimmy before Big John gave he a little ass smack.

It seems weak just watching the gif, but that girl was standing against the fence getting pounded and offering no defense for an easy 30 seconds or more. Beche didn't have the power to knock her out, but she was lighting her ass up for a while.
