Oh fuck....God no....don't Let it happen.

If you just invited a bunch of TMA dorks to come tell us how deadly their techniques are and how they'd dominate MMA if they were allowed I will never forgive you! The first person to seriously mention escrima sticks here gets a 3 day RRP vacation.
Technically, you just mentioned them...first.

Haha sorry.

I love the fine sport of MMA, it's just sometimes I see typical techniques that leave the groin unprotected or other areas and I get the same feeling I get when boxers leave themselves open for leg kicks, or kickboxers leave themselves open for takedowns or wreslters leave openings for a RNC (In their respective sports). I'm not making any judgments on the fighters or their training or whatever, just on that the rules that make a sport also narrow the focus of the combat sport.

I do sometimes wonder if eye-gouging, groin smashing and hidden poison mist were allowed in MMA if all we would see would be eye-gouging, groin smashing and hidden poison mist attacks.

Well, when it comes to those attacks and whether an MMA fighter can beat a TMA guy who uses those attacks. You have to understand that the Professional MMA fighter will train according to the rules he fights under. When you don't have to block soccer kicks, groin shots, knees to the head when you're on the ground, you are more susceptible to leaving yourself open to those attacks. You don't have to worry about that stuff happening, so you aren't going to train to defend it.

Same goes for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sport JJ and Self Defense JJ are a bit different from each other. Either way, if you allow that type of stuff, we will just train to defend those shots.

In the original UFCs almost everything was legal but very few groin shots happened, why that was can be debated but I don't think it'd be super common.

I would like to see the poison mist cloud, personally. It would be awesome if a fighter made that his signature "move".

But seriously, they need to allow 12-6 elbows.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I haven't done all my picks yet, but I think I have a decision for the top 4 fights.

2nd straight PPV card that looks boring as shit to me on paper. Hopefully the fighters come out and prove me stupid like they did on the last one.

Lot of decisions here too.

Went with 5 takedowns in the main event for the tie breaker. Because Diaz is not getting up.

My old neighbor and drinking buddy Hendricks is fighting this weekend. I'm not a big MMA guy, but Hendricks is a "friend" of mine so I'll buy this weekends PPV. Think he's in for a tough fight - don't see Condit getting knocked out. We'll see... would love Johny to win it and get his title shot - GSP is going to slaughter Diaz.
