Heh. For me it's about the chip damage with lance. Tempered Arkvald, I can sit and block all day. Tempered Gore Magala will force me to heal if I block too much.
Plus the jump from Ark to Temp Ark isn't an incoming damage shock if you get hit. Temp Gore...what train hit me?

I've only ever seen Janx, and IntFOH. Janx was only around for an Event hunt. I think it has to do with the near constant connection errors I get when starting up an Investigation or Field Survey. I've never seen a mission posted by anyone else. My character name is Ineshi, a LBG user wearing the sluttiest outfit combinations I can put together, lol.

Temp Gore is funny. Two times now it has come out of Paralysis or a Shock Trap to instantly one shot me while I'm behind it, just get smashed. Luckily I've seen that happen to other people. Arkveld just seems like a lazy design. So far I would be Rey Dau and Wu Xu as the two best animated move sets.

Pretty sure they're just static hunts for the event period, you run them repeatedly for the mission reward. Been murdering the Quem for a small mountain of cheese to stock up a bit.
Also agreed on Tempered Gore hitting like a freight train. Easily the most challenging fight in the game for me right now.

Thanks. I thought both quests gave Layered Armor as reward but one is just cheese as you said.
Trying to farm a bit to upgrade some armor, need 3 beaks now from that annoying fire spitting bird.

Yeah I'm not the best at coming up with item theorycrafting so trying to figure out what direction to go now that I've just got tempered stuff unlocked. Still using LR Rathalos armor with SnS but was thinking that Rathian wouldn't be hard to throw together until I get up through G Arkveld and everything else unlocked.

I just used the G Ebony set with SNS for pretty much the entirety of my run up to HR100 while farming out various sets and it did just fine.
After that if you want to be optimal pretty much every weapon is building some variation of WEX, Burst or Agitator with the Frenzy/Antivirus synergy, Crit Boost/MM and your favorite utility skills. I've tried most of the combinations and it doesn't appear to be changing my kill times much at all so go ham with whatever tickles your fancy.

Think I got it all figured out. Have some Side quests left but just hit Rank 40 farming some Transmog armor.
Now that I my Hunter does not look like a clown anymore its time to continue the "MSQ" quest line.
Got all the gear in the guide for HR 40. So will start checking what "Endgame gear" to aim for.
