I cannot get this benchmark to run at all. That screenshot above is the only full run it has managed to do without crashing. I've tried all sorts of things settings wise as far as turning an and off almost every combination and turning settings pretty much all the way down and it still crashes. Irritating the piss out of me. Memtest, memtest vulkan, 3DMark, AMD stress test, nothing else has any problems or errors at all.

Won't show until you get the pieces for it. Prolly Hunter Symbol III's are what you are missing.
Thanks, I dont have any of those. Was going to farm some for Weapon upgrade so maybe it will pop up when I get them.

Whats the easiest Temper farm for the Symbols?

Tempered Arkveld is most likely your best value overall. If you don't have any saved investigations you can jump into MP and pick out good ones with gems/decos/artian parts. Players seem to be pretty good at mowing him down without any issues. It's probably the easiest solo as well outside of Rey Dau.

Will do when I get back from kiddos 18 month checkup. Turning it on was literally the only bios change I made in this new build bc that’s the one thing the internet said to do 🤪

No change. Still crashes, almost reproduceable to right at the second scene when you're getting on the Seikret and about to leave the cave. Temps are across the board well below anything that should cause any issue, and I dropped settings to Low to try also with same result, frame gen off, EXPO off.

I need to go find something else to test it with and see if I can reproduce there or just a MH issue. I've recompiled shaders also, reinstalled AMD driver. Was checking my Steam library and Xbox Gamepass and I just really haven't purchased a lot lately that were "larger" releases. This is irritating. If it is RAM then, whatever, I bought it through Amazon, and they'd never notice if it was returned. I can just grab something else. But I'd like to narrow it down to something and at this rate I'm lost as to what to do next since every other test passes.

Really strange. Try the FF14 benchmark if its still around. Maybe download some newer demos, like Khazan and see how that runs.

I’ve got two more dual channel kits coming tomorrow that I’ll give a try. It has to be something out of whack or it wouldn’t pass all the other stress tests. I saw there are a couple other memtests I can d/l and try.

Also tried lowering max power of 9070 by 20% just in case with no luck. Compatibility mode doesn’t change anything. Running as Admin. I could try rolling back to not the new Windows 11 (in before ‘found your problem’) or an older AMD driver. But there’s like 1,000,000 hours of people benchmarking this on basically my set up.

Have you tried the 25.3.1 beta/optional driver?

I moved my updates to the Computer Issues thread as to not clutter up this one with tech support. Appreciate the help all. Still troubleshooting.

Anyone have some tips on how not to suck at longsword early on? I (foolishly?) decided to start Wilds with a weapon I've never used before but I feel like I'm just mashing buttons and I'm doing very little damage with no clear idea on how to consistently get the red meter going. I've got the paralyze sword and quick sheathe 3 from my armor like a video I watched suggested, that's about it so far.

Currently I'm still in chapter 1 because I do a mission that's takes forever, then there's a cutscene which also takes forever, and after a couple rounds of that I'm ready to play something else entirely.

Getting good at counters/iai spirit slash is key to pumping damage.

idk if you've watched his videos, but his guides are usually pretty thorough in showcasing all the move sets though I've not personally watched this one. -

Yeah, I"ve watched Arekkz, PWARGaming, and a few others. It's all information overload. I'd like to find one that just gives a simple description of how to start a fight, get into the red spirit gauge as fast as possible, and hopefully just repeat that process until the monster is dead. The only way I've been able to get into red consistently is by popping a bunch of wounds in focus mode with RB. Also, I suck at countering and I don't think I've successfully executed a foresight slash even once yet.

PWARGaming made LS sound like a good option for doing the story stuff, since he recommended just using the paralyze sword the whole way through, but maybe LS gameplay just isn't for me. I normally play charge blade or gunlance, but it's been ages since I played any MH at all and I didn't feel like relearning all the phial or shelling stuff to git gud again.

You know man, I also couldn't "get" Longsword. It really felt like a bunch of button mashing. I tried Gunlance and haven't looked back.

I've barely Monster Hunter games, but I tried GreatSword, LongSword, SwitchAxe, and Charge Blade...although I couldn't sync with them and kept getting thrown on my ass.

After I switched to Lance with that Chain Charm, then made sure I had some different armor/weapon elemental types as well for certain bosses, I was just throwing them on their backs regularly.

If you want to ignore counters the simplest would be y/△ combo into rt/r2 combo and then once you hit red gauge y/△ 1x -> rt/r2 1x repeat until you need to build gauge again or throw in a helmbreaker before red gauge runs out if you're feeling fancy. This is the easiest, but also won't do much for getting kill speeds down if that is important to you.

Otherwise you really have to spend time on the training dummy/fighting trivial monsters to flesh out the kit properly or forever look like an anime meme.

If you want to try a new weapon that isn't CB/GL that is simple to learn, but has room to grow with great mobility/defensive options pick up SNS. It's extremely good in this iteration as an all rounder so much so that I have to force myself to play other weapons that I enjoy. GS is also super simple but a good choice if you want to play something with more weight. The guard, guard cancel, offset and repositioning is top tier in Wilds so it is way less punishing overall compared to previous iterations.
