The card is shit it's only good because the format you are playing is shit.

If you play Traditional Ranked you won't see a single Nexus cast as well as not finding as much shit burn or shit wilderness reclamation.

Hit plat in b01 in a couple of hours rotating between mono r and mono u. Don't think I've seen so many opponents misplay in the entire time I've played mtga as I have today so it might be a good time to grind while all the bad players are trying to rank up over the weekend.

Nexus is/has been a pretty big non issue imo. Most people playing it pilot their decks poorly and the handful who know what they are doing make for easy scoops if you understand how it's going to play out. If you are playing bo3 a good sideboard can stop it no problem. Just look at the top 8's for the last month or two at paper tournaments. I think the last handful have had 1 or 2 place and none in first.

I play traditional ranked and I see em, but it's pretty dang rare

If they end up banning it, being too good isn't going to be the main reason why. It's just one of those obnoxious things that people don't enjoy playing against for the most part. Where they can take a 10-15 minute sequence and you can't really scoop because they might brick at some point but probably not. Same reason they shitcanned Eggs and KCI in Modern, although KCI was actually putting up real results.

i'm playing Wyatt Darby's Esper Midrange deck, and damn does Esper Midrange feel really satisfying. especially when Thief of Sanity sticks, beating someone up with their own deck is pretty wonderful.

you'd think that, in that situation, my opponent would realize they shouldn't leave their good cards on top of their deck when they see good stuff with explore. just took a guy's Wildgrowth Walker one turn and his Jadelight Ranger next. then turn five he conceded at 18 health, lol.

yeah Guardian Project is such a great card for limited.

Ill-Gotten Inheritance is even nice in constructed stuff with the right deck. stick it in a control deck and it's actually a decent win con.

Ill-gotten Inheritance is deceptively good.

At first it looks like garbage.

Then it looks great.

Then you realize that most of the draft decks its good in would likely be good even without it. Almost all the good Ill-Gotten Inheritance decks are heavy removal/deathtoucher decks, that would win with any reasonable win-con.

I played 3 in one game, it was ridonculous. turn 4,6,7 and the 2/2 Dt guys holding back his guys.

I just gave no two fucks about the life part of Final Payment since I was going to get it back.

BTW Pro Tip for Draft: Force Rakdos or maybe Orzhov, pick all the Plague Wights unless there's removal or some other thing like Ill Gotten Inheritance. The bot will let you have 4-7 Plague Wights. That card is secretly bonkers in this format.

This game is pay-to-win as fuck.
