Lurkers coming out of the woodwork because I'm saying MTGA is pay-to-win, lol.

Me saying MTGA is pay-to-win isn't the same as saying MTG isn't fun or that MTGA is a bad game.

Please, learn the difference aspies. And it is pay-to-win.

it's not pay to win, there is no card a free player doesn't have access to.

Post a winning pauper deck big boi.

Every pauper deck that ever won a league? The point is you could get a cheap deck on MTGO and if you are the undiscovered LSV you can make gains with that deck, and MTGA made it even easier.

The entry barrier is the lowest it has ever been with mtg arena, with literally every card being available for free, and zero price differentiation between a great mythic one and a shitty one.

If you have neither time to grind nor money to spend, you a worthless consumer which no company targets?

You realize to access the meta-decks, you're going to spend 10 - 15 Rares minimum right? And then there's additional Uncommons or Commons on top of that, even with all of the pre-made starter decks.

I casually got to Gold last season with a White Weenie and Merfolk deck. I also spent $80 on diamonds last season.

This season, I'm broke, and I'm 20+ cards away from accessing the meta. Without spending actual dollars that's 1+ rares per week, if you're playing every day until you don't get gold anymore. Which is 10+ weeks of farming.

What other game walls you off from being competitive for 10+ weeks, unless you spend money? All the pay-to-win games right?

Dude, you're just salty I'm being critical.

Your only defense is that I'm a "worthless consumer", which I already claimed to be in my initial post, lol.

I grinded to gold in about 5 hours with a white weenie deck.

Did you ever consider you are a shitty player? Or that a 5 hour / month time investment shouldn't give you everything available?

There isn't much of a middle ground between these based on your statements.

no that's pay to speed up, there's a world of difference, arguably the second worst one but there's a big difference. Also the cooldowns on MTGA aren't as brutal as other pay to speed ups like ff record keeper that only lets you fight X number of times a day.

I believe world of tanks is pay to win with special armor piercing ammo you can buy with money that you can't access otherwise.

pay to win would be getting special conditions on the match like extra life or cards or something, like if you could pay 50 cents to scry once at the start of the match that would be pay 2 win.

you don't need to net deck to have decks that can grind out the cards you want

I've found the white knight of MTGA.

Then prove me wrong with actual evidence instead of insults forum warrior.

Noone with experience and info is going to argue that aggro decks are extremely cheap on MTG:A, and effective due to the format, so what exactly do you want me to prove?

And I've found the chromosome smuggler of the MTG:A FoH thread, what is your point again?

I don't give a fuck that you can't spend 10$ a week on MTG:A, you being poor seems correct based on your posts in this thread, so don't blame it on that.

The spirit of pay-to-win is that you're blocking off players from having an advantage or experiencing content, unless they get past a pay wall. MTGA blocks off old players from the META in a new season for 10+ weeks.

Remember, that all new players get lots of help. Existing players don't get help upon a new season.

So, yeah, if you want to look up the definition of pay-to-win in the dicationary and intentionally try to misconstrue where I'm coming from, MTGA is not pay-to-win. But, if you don't spend money on this game, you're out of the META for a loooooong time, effectively making it pay-to-win.

I fully encourage the spirit that gives players without money, time or skill jack shit.

Arena is by far the best and easiest DCCG on the market today. I spent $20 for gems the other day and will probably be doing unlimited drafts until the next expansion. I easily get 5+ wins per event. I have only spent $25 total on this game. I have several solid decks that aren't cheap freebie RDW. Is it easier to find a top deck full of expensive cards? Of course. Is it hard to accumulate 10 rares in this game? Not at all. You can easily earn a free rare every week just by doing the daily quest and winning 4 games.

I payed $50 .00 when RNA was released to get a shit load of cards. with those i grinded every day gold, until i had 40k gold. then all into 8 draft RNA.

I made enough of wins over all to do around 12 draft before i ran out funds/gold.

At 1k a day for daily that is 1 draft a week, also i have a shit load of wildcards. I am waiting for the meta to stabilize then go and make a top tier deck, then do constructed tournaments with it. I figured you can do 1k of daily and invest that into the entry fee.

It is slow, but it is not pay to win at all.
Right now im just owning people with merfolk, having fun.

I acknowledged that previously.

I'm not saying this game isn't playable without spending dollars. I'm just saying you can't compete at the outset of a new season. Which, makes it pay-to-win.

And I personally don't have a problem with that, I just didn't realize that until I couldn't spend money on this new release.

The only reason I'm getting grief is because this is the MTG thread, lol.
