They're saying its a supply problem, which I assume means they're not getting nearly enough boxes to crack open to fill all orders. But if that's the case, then they shouldn't have put that quantity up for preorder.

Anyway, I think Siege Rhino is fucking awesome. 6 point lifeswings are exactly what you want in a deck that's playing Thoughtseize against other decks that are also likely playing Thoughtseize. It's also just plain insane with Whip of Erebos, where Reaper is really just a 4/5 do-nothing with Whip.

lol back i onslaught the fetch lands were really cheap. damn now they are 20 a piece. i actually had 4 of each except the U/B because that one was expensive. Now i lost most of thems since i gave them to friends for free =(

Yeah I went deep on Sorin last week and after it proved popular over the weekend I had 8 cancels on MCM. Thing is they don't allow customers to cancel pre-orders....

Empty the Pits has been largely written off but it will be broken at some point. Very cheap atm for a mythic as well. Urborg is worth some attention also.

These cards are not together in standard. Not sure what format this would be a thing in besides perhaps Commander. And that would just be one of a zillion powerful things you can do in that format, tame even compared to many.

Empty the Pits is fine on it's own. It's a big instant speed finisher in a control deck.

Yea I didn't think much of it until I had to do a double take at instant speed. It'll do things for sure, probably even in standard.

I'm hoping to play this deck at FNM tomorrow if the cards arrive in time... so much fun online:

Here is a little write up of my last game with it, with two hilarious kills:
Just played a really fun game against rabble red online:

Game One: Kept a land heavy 6 and only drew lands, with 20 land you can't really blame the deck. Oh well learn to mulligan?


Game Two: He tapped out to get me down to 2 life and passed the turn, luckily he had no burn spell but I was going to die to mass Goblin Tokens next turn. I then cast three protection spells on my Fabled Hero in his turn just to give it 4 +1/+1 counters. I untap and play Ajani's Presence to give it another +1/+1 counter and another +1/+1 from the spell. With my Soldier of the Pantheon that is 18 damage, exactly his life total! Even a blocker wouldn't have helped since I had two sources of protection from red.


Game Three: With a 3/2 War-Name Aspirant and a 3/2 enchanted Foundry Street Denzien, I was already at 11 life and it was Turn 3. I was dead next turn.
I had an untapped 2/1 Ainok Bondkin and 1/1 Phalanx Leader, no counters on either.

So he attacks and I block, convoking Ephemeral Shields in responce to the attack on the Phalanx Leader giving them both first strike and power enough to kill both attackers.
He then convokes Stoke the Flames to kill the Phalanx Leader and save the Foundry Street Denzien.
So I use my one mana open to cast Ajani's Presence...

He lost two creatures, an enchantment and a spell. My four cards worth now leave me with a 4/3 and 3/3 both with First Strike, and Flying when I played Azban Falconer next turn. He left the game.


I suspect that this deck could be viable but even if it isn't, these situations seem to happen in every game and are too entertaining to pass up.

That's a fun little deck. I've got several similar to it because I can't get enough of aggro decks. But, did you ever find yourself out of a hand rather quick and having to top-deck and hope for the best? For that reason, I have a W/U aggro that's similar with Fabled, heroes, Battlewise Hoplite, God's Willing etc. but added Ordeal of Thassa, and Divination too. Fast, but with a ton of Scry and Draw to keep my hand full.

Even with my Boros aggro deck I can't play without draw (mental block I have, help me RR!).

Well another guy designed it and I took out Defiant Strike (W, +1,+0, draw a card) for the Ephemeral Shields, so it did actually have card draw at one point. The deck is so crazy because you have the 13th-16th protection spells though, and they are never dead cards since they can counter spells, help to block or help to attack. I guess the idea is that the cards which you do have don't ever die and even the instants leave behind +1/+1 counters.

I'd give Brave the Elements a try too if you have some. Mono-white is perfect for it. Not necessarily as a "heroic" mechanic, but one card can change a game.

I miss the 3 CMC +2/+0 to everything spell the last few blocks had too, won so many games paying 4 mana to +2/+0, Protection from Colour on everything.

Oooooooh yeah. Haha. I forgot that Standard is the go-to for our little forum group of MTG players. I don't play the Standard format so I don't pay attention to what's in or out, just what's banned or restricted in Modern, Legacy, Vintage, and EDH.

I play all three main formats. Affinity in Modern/Legacy! That standard deck costs less than one Mox Opal :/

Might be too many spells. Try some number of Eidolon of Countless Battles in place of some spells.

Ephemeral Shields is actually a really bad spell in that kind of deck, because it can never really be used offensively.

I like Feat of Resistance a lot in heroic decks.

You can cast Ephemeral Shields for 2 mana as well as Convoke, it's needed to protect Fabled Hero on turn 3 and surprise them when you are tapped out.

Random distributions have deviations from the mean. The system is also somewhat zero sum in that each sheet of rares/mythics is not variable so those cards from the sheets his fetches and shit came from are going to end up in other people's far less awesome boxes.

Also, what that guy should clearly do now is sell everything and buy six more boxes (ordered from a different location).
