I wouldn't be shocked if the foil fetches clump because of how they come off the sheet.

Anecdote: I saw 3 foil Windswept Heaths at the prereleases I went to, and 0 of any of the others.

This guy's box is fucking nuts. A foil Clever Imposter I bet will settle around 50-60 and then go up long term.

Those I bought on MTGO along with most of the devotion skeleton for basically nothing. They were just cards I liked. Desecration Demon? This has to be good!

I'd like this whole physical cards thing if I could purchase and receive cards instantly.

I remember my and my friends bought a box of Time Spiral for drafting, and EVERY pack had a foil rare in it. Weird shit.

Randomization, my arse.
You say you understand what randomization means, but you keep complaining about it. The existence of that box proves they ARE randomizing. You want them to stop randomizing is what you mean, and average the boxes out, which they used to do. That isn't a printing error like back during the early days.

For more than a decade, wizards printed their cards in such a way to ensure that boxes were relatively similar in value. You might get a $80 box on the low end, and a $180 on the high end. Then, their algorithms for printing were reverse engineered and got circulated publicly starting back around Innistrad. aka: Box mapping. Mapping existed before that, it was just done by a handful of small, closed groups that never let the info out and they weren't fool proof anyways. After it got more public with Innistrad, more box info was being gathered through crowd sourcing and the programs became almost perfect. So, starting with the second recent printings of Theros block (and the 3rd/4th of Ravnica block, not sure which), they started randomizing them more. That's when
we started seeing more 'god boxes' popping up.

The old stories of weird boxes with multiple rares per pack were printing errors. Boxes that just have a bunch of good cards in them now, are normal effects of actual randomization.

Buddy of mine who preordered a case through the local shop was told he can't pick up his cards until they get a restock because they need what they have left to run drafts all weekend. They also cracked 3 cases for preorders and singles.

They're lucky it wasn't me. If it was my money they took and then kept product to resell, I wouldn't be nearly so nice. I like that shop and the folks who run it a lot but that's crossing a major line. You don't take someone's money and then just fail to deliver a product when you have any of it in stock.

I saw a Jeskai Control deck that i thought was interesting but didn't have all the Elspeth's because my brother was playing Abzan. It had a token theme so put in 2x Purphoros, 2x Keranos. I had stole a game late where I reveal Hordeling Outburst, deal 3 via Keranos, cast it, Purphoros triggers for 6, Jeskai Charm from hand for 4.

I also got good work out of Suspension Field and Disdainful Stroke.

Disdainful Stroke is going to be a good card in this standard. Get ahead and then stay ahead by stopping them from doing anything that can turn the game around.

Bit of a buzz about this at FNM and one of the cards people were looking for.

No limit on how many times you can activate the +2/+2 and regen - folks don't know what to do against it when it comes across the board. Someone said they don't see it in Green/Black but this is a good color set for me.

I tested it in a Green/Black deck last night. It works great on its own and the cards are there to quickly pump it.

Urborg to help swamps and Green mana base, Incremental Growth to get 3 +1/+1 tokens on it, Tuskguard Captain (outlast) to give it trample and a couple of Become Immense. Also threw in Longshot Squad (outlast) to give everything with counters Reach to help deal with flyers. Once Incremental Growth hits you suddenly have three good sized creatures with Trample and reach.

Also ran Awaken the Bear (instant +3/+3 trample) so I can go across with other creatures and deal with whatever or use it for an extra dmg killshot and Savage Punches for creature removal or additional pump.

With the delve on Become Immense it's not uncommon to send across a 5/5 trample that can be pumped to a 19/19. Normally I'd just think.. that's a lot of cards, but :

i) Deathdealer does the business as soon as it hits the board and on - you don't necessarily need other cards, the above is just a fun brew;

ii) this format is sloooowwwwwwwwwww.

Additional point is that being only two mana makes it more difficult to counterspell in this format.

The bottom line is it's a good card, that has a shot at being more, selling on MKM for 80 cents. It's $1.86 mid on TCG. I think it's worth at least picking up a playset via trade or purchase.

As an aside, Become Immense has been like motherly milk for me. With the format as slow as it is it does all sorts of good stuff.

Elf, Rakshasa, swing for six is pretty good. You aren't developing the board on your turn 3 but that's a whole mess of threat from just dude + elf.

I feel like the point of that card is that you just play it then fireball your opponent with it every turn into they can block it favorably or spend a turn dealing with it, which might be never.

Leaving the regen open might just be a poor use of your mana in early turns. It feels more like that's there for upside in the midgame.

I think Deathdealer is strong but in what deck? In a more aggressive Abzan deck would you want Deathdealer over Fleecemane?

Swing 4 with option to regenerate seems a bit stronger, imo.
Most of the time yeah. I also think it'll be kinda interesting to attack, pump once, and ask your red playing opponent if the first pump resolves. Queue squirming. Even if you get in big and tap out if your opponent spends mana on his turn three to kill it you still have initiative and still smacked for six.

Polukranos eating worlds
Ried duke played sarkhan for the kill in round 1
Sarkhan showing power-overall seeing lots of play and talk.
B/W control notably not running Utter end in round 1 against duke.
More hornet queen talk/appearance than expected-(sarkhan defender)
Seeing Delve decks from todd anderson and brad nelson (jund delve)
