I didn't actually offer an alternative. There are plenty of ways you could change it, like say, trying to run in front of someone and stand still is an automatic foul. You can still call charges when a guy tries to clear out with his arms or drives a shoulder into a guy. You want to stop someone on the way to the hoop? Try to block his shot or steal the ball, don't just jump in front of him going full speed and try to crash to the floor.

Again, the incentive to run in front of someone and stand still to draw a foul is poor design.
I don't see how that could possibly work when 90% of defending is getting yourself between the person and the basket. The rule may not be great but the alternatives wouldn't be any better and would most likely be even more subjective.

Warriors-Nuggets has been such an amazing series. The only bad thing about it is that it's going to end. It isn't going to happen but I'd love to see the Warriors get past the next round.

Eh, much stranger things have happened. I actually like the matchup with the Spurs a little more than I did with the Nuggets. Spurs are obviously a better team, but they don't have the number of physically imposing wings / bigs that the Nuggets had to slow down the Warriors backcourt with. I think Thompson especially should have a better series, and Curry might find it a bit less grueling. If they can limit the open looks by Spurs roleplayers, they have a shot.

Just the same deal, gotta find a way to win one of the first two in San Antonio. Sure the Warriors haven't won there in 15+ years, but the Nuggets hadn't lost at home in months and look what happened there.

The real shame of these playoffs is just how good the Heat are. Imagine how open the field would be if they weren't the shoe in favorites to win.

Teams are having a hard time closing it out in Game 6. I thought the Knicks had this one. Then they allow the Celtics to go on a 19-0 run in the 4th.

Good and bad news for the Thunder. Good: You're advancing to the next round. Bad: Scott Brooks isn't going to get fired!

Eh, while he shouldn't be coaching, there was no way he was getting fired once Westbrook went down.

Memphis in 4 or 5.

edit: Beverley is kind of retarded

LeBron is definitely the best player in the NBA, and the Heat are probably the best team, but it is always nice when things break your way.

#2 Knicks: Would be the 6th seed in the west
#3 Pacers: No Granger
#4 Nets: no real threat
#5 Bulls: No Rose. I know they ended the streak, but they aren't winning 4 of 7.
#6 Hawks: no real threat
#7 Celtics: No Rondo, no more Ray Allen, and Garnett/Pierce old
#8 Bucks: 6 games under .500

Bynum never suited up for the 76'ers, who also regressed.
Westbrook out, and the Thunder probably are not going to make it back to the finals. Not to mention the Harden trade is biting OKC in the ass.
Kobe out, and the Lakers general implosion.

Because they really dont want to get suspended for multiple games. They lose ALOT of money.
I wouldn't be surprised if Z-Bo got a 1 game suspension from his choke, although it looks like Griffin was grinding his elbow on Z-Bo's head a half second before he went for the throat.

People who call this a fight and turn it into some kind of scandal never saw a hockey match...

Anyway... the Thunder might still have a shot if Martin and Jackson keep this up.

LeBron to get his 4th MVP in 5 years tomorrow. The shitty thing is that he should've won it in 2011 also, his season was way better than Rose's just everyone was pissed that he left the Cavs for the Heat.
