Accidentally done the boss multiple time thing from wiping on trash after the boss was dead. Encounter didnt count as 'done' and reset but the boss had already dropped loot upon its actual death.

They have said they ruled out a "dawn of time" wipe but not anything more specific. I'd have to guess a rollback to Thursday is in the cards as that should be far enough back to eliminate the broadest aspects of the exploit on the economy...then go back and manually trace the exploiters at that point and nuke their characters and anything they traded

On a more serious note, the people on the official forums are hilarious, especially the ones asking for a full wipe. I honestly don't think I'll bother playing again if they do wipe.
Can you explain why (in your opinion) a full wipe is a retarded suggestion?

I like the game, and even I am pretty sure I would not bother leveling again, if they did a full wipe.

Definitely no wipe, almost certainly a rollback, but probably not very far.

Re: not having automatic reporting of red flags. Frankly, it's just a matter of priorities. If you're flush with cash and have spare engineering resources (hah), and someone competent to babysit the system (double-hah), it can be done. Most of the time, though, a system like that is pretty low on the list of stuff to do, relative to "get the damn project working and out the door". Automatic monitoring is a post-launch feature, if at all. Sad but true. It might be nice to assume they already have it working from CO/STO, but really? That's giving them credit they aren't necessarily due.

Yeah this game has been a mess exploit wise. Although this AD thing on the AH takes the cake. Especially for a game counting on such currency to feed just about everything. Given its was going on since the start of the game it might be really hard for them to just wipe out the currency and ban a few people without leaving a huge impact on the economy / game.

Even more surprised they never caught on until people were passing out those expensive cats in the city.

go to vegas. "exploit" a flaw in a slot machine and see what happens to you. its both outright illegal, and the fear of what the casino itself will do to you, is a pretty big deterrent.

no one in the scenarios are retarded. the game company is going to up and decide to sue for some guy accidentally duping once. there is no, oops, I did something illegal.
They have logs. As with GW2, when someone dupes 20000 times, then sells in on an AH. and especially when a real money AH comes into play. dont use silly strawman, of fear of accidents.

There needs to be some fear.

some serious hardline lines and bannings would be nice. most games don't even do that, and a culture of apathy, and again, the exploit early and often mantra. Gamers know they are screwed if they DON'T take part in exploits. that is a problem.
bans are not really enough though. as noted. the hardliners, don't care. either just get a new account, or move on to another game. its not like there is only 1 game around.
(which is why the hard rollback wont happen. as bad as a ruined economy is. a full rollback, everyone will just move on.)
Sorry but you don't live in reality. Vegas and a fucking fantasy MMO game are two very different things.

"shards down, see forums" FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU. You've got a god damn captive audience with the fucking patcher, Put the fucking notes in the god damn thing. You don't even give me a link to the right god damn post, such lazy shit.

Sorry, trigger issue triggered. It seems like no-one's done it "right" since EQ, everyone's got a launcher/patcher, and other than changing the advertising, it gets no love.

Pretty certain some database programmer and QA people just got fired for this. Not only was the unsigned integer a first-year kiddie mistake, but there are numerous reports of this having been submitted as a bug during the early beta phases and returned as 'closed issue resolved' tickets.

This could easily devastate their entire 'launch'. I'm more than a bit shocked that the gaming news sites have not pounced on this mess.

Wonder what the record is for forced total server downtime? Not just a few servers like WoW had at the start there with that super populated cluster but the entire game.

Servers still down? looks a rollback to 5:20am (PDT) Sunday, May 19th. I haven't logged in since then (logged off about 2am PDT) so thankfully this rollback will have no effect on me. they will be giving everyone some kind of bullshit ingame bonus pack as an apology for the rollback. exploited AD will be removed. It sounds like any exploited AD before 5:20am is still yours to keep, unless they go back after individuals before this time.

Worst I saw before this was the clusterfuck when SWG opened the gates. But this, this is pretty bad.

Well for one thing, real money and time is involved. Even when they refund the zen that was spent, there is still the matter of gambling via the lockboxes. Some people have gotten extremely lucky with them, and some people brought keys to get specific items in those boxes. There is no guarantee that they will get back what they lost. For example, I got very lucky; I used two keys, opened two boxes, and got a companion and a mount. I know people that have gotten multiple mounts and companions from the boxes. The shitstorm that will come if they just refunded the zen and say "there you go, all good" will be massive.

Servers are up again and it looks like they implemented the 7 hour rollback. Kind of annoying for me since about half my playtime over the last week happened during that time frame.

When this initially launched the feedback was pretty negative so I stayed away but it seems people are still playing it and kind of enjoying it? Is it just because there is nothing else or is this genuinely enjoyable for what it is?
